Gp3700 Big!
My LHS got a batch of Pole Position GP3700 yesterday. The #s were incredible, but they were really big! A couple of friends bought them and could not fit them inside their TC3, Pro4, Xray...etc. Sad that they got these new cells and can use them.
I guess, we'll need to get the IB cells instead.

They say that the only chassis it really fits so far is the Yokomo BD because they specifically made it to fit those types of sells

The latest batch of RDX's also are machined to accept the larger cells. This is going to be an issue with most racers since if this new cell proves to be superior and is adopted by all matechers as "The" cell it will make all older cars that were designed with the 3300's in mind obsolete. This is going to create a major problem for everyone including the maufactuers.

So your saying pretty much everyone with the older rdx's are going to have a problem fitting the batteries....that just sucks. All I know is that im good with 3300's right now

Cars with carbon plate chassis can be modified to fit but the big problem is going to be for the molded chassis like a TC3/4. Even the off-road world is going to have major problems. New chassis will have to be designed and sold to prevent all molded chassis cars from becoming obsolete. I'm sure that the next versions of the cars will have this designed into them but the previous versions will be useless.
I know this is progress in the industry but I belive that they can make a cell that has the increased capacity and still be the size of a 3300 like the IB3600 are.

Corally RDX
The 3700's will fit in the older RDX. This is taken from www.corally.com if you don't want to get the updated chassis and battery brace.
The older RDX chassis and battery straps can be used in combination with GP3700 cells. But with these it is required to reduce the diameter of the battery strap posts and a 3mm washer should be placed under them.
It is tough when a car is designed over 6 months ago and no cells available to test fit. Only thing to do is update as fast as possible and provide solutions.

Not really the Yokomo BD trays are removable so you can get them to fit into most flat chassis (i.e. 415, xray sd, pro4 bla bla bla) out there...They aren't available yet but by the end of the month they should be. The trays are type specific...The ones that come with the kit are for the 3300 size. You will have to buy seperate ones for the 3700 and 3800's.
