Default which charger?

Hi guys,

I have an LRP touch but don't really like it for some reason..

Buying a charger used to be pretty obviously, lrp, orion, and much more (since lipo's)

Now though I go to buy a charger and get completely confused..

What charger do you guys think is the best, best value, best interface, features charger to spend your money on?

Thanks!

I am a huge fan of my Orion charger. I have the advantage touch. It only charges at 6amps but you don't really need more than that. It shows the graph on the balance and exactly which cell is charged to what. It has been dead accurate at big races on the voltage which sounds stupid but at a roar race being spot on is very handy so you don't miss qualifiers or races. It's 1 cell capacity seems to be .1 over but thats also an easy fix. The touch screen does make life very easy as well. You put in the mah of your battery. 2cell or 1. Balance or no balance. Plus its ac/dc.

iCharger 106b..
Charges all the types of batteries RC uses
Adjustable endpoint for voltage
Small
Inexpensive by comparison
10Amp max charge rate.

As mentioned before. having a charger that is consistent and has the option to be set for a desired voltage helps at races where the batteries are teched. I did tech at the Champs last weekend and I had several racers need to burn off voltage to pass. Some races will DQ if you try to go thru over max voltage.

Unfortunately my Orion Advantage Twin Spec has not been that faithful. At last year's IIC it charged everything just fine...at this year it charged everything over.

I"ll be picking up a new charger this month as well...so far I'm looking at the Hyperion, Thunder Power, and the iChargers as I hear good things about all of them.

For a few years, RC Cars and RC Airplanes I've been useing.
Bantam e-Station BC-6 BCDXDX-ii AC/DC or
Bantam e-Station BC8DP AC/DC

with no problems. Use it on every battery I need to charge up. NiMd, lipo's, LiFe's, and PB's. www.RCaccessory.com to look into it. Also has discharging functions. And accessories for the Charger.

Honestly, I do not believe you can go wrong with the Orion Advantage Touch. It is an awesome charger that has all the functions you could ask for.

have nothing bad to say about my Thunder power charger. I might actually drop the $275 for their twin charger lol.
small, quiet can charge at 10 amps with a strong power supply. zero complaints.

I have the Thunder Power TP820CD. By far the best charger I have owned. Has 2 ports and can charge up to 20amps per port if you were to need it to. Measure IR. A little spendy but well worth it.

Powerlab 8 hands down. You need to use your computer to really get it all dialed in, but it will handle ANYTHING you may ever charge. 6s helicoper, 2s TC, 1s 1/12th scale, parallel charge (4) 4s batteries simultaneously at 40A....ect. It's nearly endless.

I use a Graupner charger, charges up to 20 amp and is very well priced. Most of the top guys here use it or the LRP touch. Dont know if you can get in the US though
