I'm new to the TA05 platform and I'm sure this was covered before, but I'll ask again. Is there a significant difference between the handling characteristics of the IFS-R and the regular R suspension? Thx.

Look on the TA05 IFS tread, couple guys there converted their R to IFS.

Some said they liked it better, some said no difference. I looked into it, about $20-$30 in parts depending on where and what you buy.

Hey all,

I am sure this has been asked before but with 330 pages i dont like my chances of finding it.

Just got some lipo's and i run in 540 Pro class, which is the johnson or mabuchi 540 silver can motors. This class was closely contested until a few of the other racers moved to lipo packs where they started dropping 1 to 2 seconds if not more off there lap times.

What is the best gear ratio to run in the ta05 for the 540 pro class with lipo packs? And what fdr should i be aiming for now that i will be running lipo packs.

Thanks for the help.

You should ask the guy with the -2 second hot laps what FD they use. Then you can figure your gear ratio out from there. Every track requires different gearing, so nobody will know. Lipo shouldn't make a big difference in gearing unless your Nimh charging skills are lacking...

SO I was looking through the charts for the suspension blocks that poeple linked on here.

I can't seem to find a 'Bridge' block other than 'A'. Do they make them?
The one the belt goes under.

I know for sure there is a D Bridge-Block as well.

Another option would be to use standard blocks and simply flip them over using spacers to take up the extra room (like TA05-MS does). Some of 415 blocks cannot be flipped over due to the contours, so look closely. This is why Tamiya redesigned the blocks for the TB03/416. So when purchasing new blocks, be sure to get these updated versions with stylized text (unless the cost is an issue)...

+1, cant see it making a vast difference, a tooth or 2 max to what you are using now? Maybe its the punch out the corner that is pulling the lap times down and not the gearing?

Follow the guy around the track and see where you're lacking I guess would be a good starting point

On eBay from sellers BboyKorea382 (slow shipping that doesn't always turn up), Hobby Japan and Vellrip. I think Vellrip is best, but also most expensive. He also has a site vellrip.com and shipping is usually much cheaper buying from it...

I'll make it easy for you:

Ifs, and standard... mm maybe not a whole lot of difference, but definitely looks cooler. Plus you can put all those uber low bodies. Love my 415, but the IFS chassis and body does turn heads. It also can hang with the big rich boy chassis as well. I'm waiting for the lightweight NSX 2007 body to come out. Besides, isn't everyone sick of seeing the same bodies at the track?

I like vellrip's selection. But the shipping was kinda expensive last time ordered from them. Adds like a couple bucks to each item instead of weight. That quickly adds up. Did they change that method recently?
