The TA05 is probably the predecessor to the 416.

Gary, you don't think that the latest and greatest Full hopped up TRF version (when it is released) won't have the motor mounted more midship? More like this "prototype" tub car is? I don't think this is going to be the 416, but there might be many similarities in the two.

Tamiya made an announcement on their Japanese web site regarding this chassis:

http://www.tamiya.com/japan/info/rc_magazines.htm

Roughly translated to (using Sherlock):

"* The magazine about "RC magazine" which is in the midst of selling
and to the NEW chassis which is introduced the "RC world":
The machine of the new model belt drive which is published as the scoop article presently development midway in both magazines and it cannot announce details yet. Therefore being not to be able to answer to either the inquiry which is by the mail and the like, please acknowledge. Furthermore we are the schedule which is guided with Shizuoka hobby show of May opening concerning the NEW machine. Please wait already for a while."

So it's semi official this chassis will be announced in May at the Shizuoka show.

Come on Troy, you've been around long enough. You and I both know the direction that Tamiya heads:

Full blown race chassis that gets "dumbed down" for the tub chassis version. They did it with the 414->04 and the Evo 3->Tb-02. They don't go from tub to full blown race chassis. From what I have been able to learn though, some of the reasons why there are differences between this chassis and the 415 is that this car was not a combined effort between Tamiya and Tech; it's an in-house piece. At least that's what I've heard, nothing official...

Chris....man, just remember when you get picked up and thrown thru the tech table @ RROC, I tried to warn you...I tried to stop you, but you just needed an a$$whooping...
