So.... I keep breaking kingpins
The top kingpin that holds the steering knuckle in the c-hub
Both the knuckle and the hub are 3racing aluminum parts
I'm thinking that the metal on metal isn't allowing enough flex for my inconsistent driving abilities

I have everything stock plastic available. Which would be the best to replace with stock? The hubs or the knuckles?

I would try the Hub first and see how it does. If it keeps breaking, swap them and try again.

will do.
sadly, a solid smack to the sideboard coming off the back straight tends to snap the pins clean off forcing me to dremel out the end of the pin

hi, very late to the party. just got a new-to-me bog standart ta05 that needs it chassis replacing. Originally thought to replace it with the carbon tub but a mate mentioned the 3 racing v2 conversion kit for a little bit more. However, I have read that due to the "good fit", there could be some campside mechanics required to do this. Is it go or no go for the conversion. Oh, how will handling be affected? For ref. the last TC I had was a TC3 and the one before that a ta03. Thanks.

Default spur n pinion combination on TA05 with 3600kv motor

HI All,

now i having problem with the gear ratio, the TA05 have 2.25 gear ratio. now I'm running BL system with no sensor. the motor have 3600KV on it. the store say its 12.5T motor.

I expect to have a fast car, but when i try the car is very slow in strait track. I having 104T (64P) spur with 30T pinion. Am I doing right or total mistake using that spur and pinion combination. need help - Thank you

ur fdr is a 7.8. you need to use a diff spur and pinion combo and try to get down to the 5-4's

fdr=final drive ratio

so like i said you need to change the pinion and spur combo so you can bring that number lower. for example if you use a 64 pitch 40t pinion and 89t spur you will have an fdr of 5.01. try that combo but u need to temp ur motor and esc after a 5-6 minute run to see if it gets too hot or not.

just want to share my ta05 tourer... since its my only rc car it gets all my lovin.

pretty humble setup for 13.5 with boost.

aluminum suspension mounts
universals upfront
cf conversion
aluminum shocks

opted for a non ifs configuration as its easier. wanting that gear diff from spec-r though... this handles in our home track quite well. even competing with trfs (same level driving as me)

any more suggestions for hops? i am still thinking if aluminum bulkheads are really necessary though.

Thats a great looking Ta05. They are a great car and can compete with anything at club level.
