Take your time and be careful how you assemble the steering assembly (If the arms are put on the spindles the wrong way you wont get enough steering lock left to right) and pay attention to the differential housing belt tensioners, make sure they are both on the same spline each side.

It is in the manual, but make sure you file out the wishbones exactly as per the manual, or they could bind.

If something doesnt look right, check and recheck the instructions and be logical, HTH

Just follow the instructions and pay attention to the parts orientation and you're good to go. If you have four (4) 5x8 bearings you can drop them into the steering arms and use some 5mm shims to remove play.

4.5 FDR should be plenty fast for your TA05. Once you have the setup that you are comfortable with, you can go even lower...4.2 may be.
However, you might have to grind a little alum off the top motor plate in order to use a 50 pinion and 77 spur (just kidding...but you still need to do that to mount some monster size pinion for 13.5)

I run 4.4 FDR with my 13.5 standard rotor.

The MS is great, the only weak points I've found are some of the plastic/carbon in the front end and the aluminum turnbuckles on the front. I ditched the front one-way after the first few laps.
The futaba s9550 is great! Unfortunately, the mamba is too much for the local track here...

Could you please tell me the maker and part number of your aluminum steering knuckle? They have three holes on them, I suppose they are made by Square RC? Could you tell me where to get them?

I keep breaking this part on my local indoor track, so I really want to replace them with aluminum parts.

Thanks a lot!

Just put the 13.5 from my MRE (sintered rotor) into my TA05R. 88 spur / 43 pinion is my starting point (4.6 FDR). Depending on the track, it may be even lower, like 4.2 FDR.

I did need to grind a bit of the top plate to allow the motor to move further forward for proper gear mesh.

Next year Nissan is going to run the R35 GTR in the Japanese SuperGT series. I hope Tamiya produces a replica body of it for the TA05!

I forgot to show what the R35 race car will look like... Here are some pics. It looks like it would fit the TA05IFS profile quite well!
