The front one-way allows the front wheels to freewheel when off throttle. That gives the car more turn entry speed. It also locks on throttle to retain the 4 wheel drive on throttle on turn exit. The locking action on throttle translates to more steering on turn exit than if having a diff up front.
Used alone, the center one-way works similarly; it allows the front half of the drive train to freewheel but retains the differential action up front. This configuration will give less on power steering than the front one-way, yet more on power steering than when using two diffs and a locked center.
Some people use both. It suppossed to increase cornering speed even more than using either of the above alone.

I just rebuilt my rear diff as it was a bit notchy/crunchy. I pulled it all apart, cleaned it and greased it up and put it back in. The diff still feels the same, could the balls have flat spots on them? I have a oneway that im gonna try in the front so i might just put the front diff in the rear.

flip the diff plates too if you havnt used both sides already, strip down, rebuild/lube with new balls as lbckevin said and look at the smaller thrust race too (inside the output), repack it with grease if needed and run slightly loose for a few laps at non racing speed, then tighten to racing level.
That should bed the diff in well.

Ran my R yesterday for the first time at my track. Car went great! took the sway bars off as it was way to twitchy and then it went fine. Finished 3rd out of 10 and beat my PB lap time. I am very pleased with this car. I may have a few questions later on when i take a look at the car.

I haven't changed much from kit (-R)...white front springs, rear shocks in one hole from stock and I run a front one-way. It runs better than I can drive, so to me, it's totally dialed...LOL Oh yeah...a little more front droop...0 toe and 1.5 camber.
I really haven't messed with it a bunch or anything, so your mileage may definitely vary...LOL When I was totally kit, it seemed like it had WAY too much steering for me, you could hang the end out at will just about anywhere, so the changes I've made were to tone down the steering a little and give it a little more rear bite.
As cold as it's been, I'm thinking about bringing some 28 and 24 Sorexes. I usually run 32s.
