Yeah I did, but Yah noticed this too on the TA05 compared to say an Evo 4/5 or an MSX just grab a front wheel and spin... the TA05 will spin maybe a quarter the time the MSX or EVO wheel will, and its the same shafts, same wheel bearings, so the resistance is in the one way unit itself. Seen it on every TA05 with a front one way so far!

flush the blooming bearings out and lube with a light oil then, that will solve it.

Default 05 MS retail $$

So at the show are they listing a suggested retail $$ for the 05MS? I'm thinking this car would be a little better on carpet than the standard 05 that I have now.

A price of 70,000 yen has already been suggested for the MS. More than twice the price of the 05R. Same sort of price as the 415 series.

EXPOSED!

The TA05-MS has a dirty secret...

This pic shows how the motor is NOT in the same place as the TA05. In fact it is mid-way between the 05 and the 415.

No equal length belts then. You can't really call it a TA05 at all because apart from the new alloy bulkheads (and common suspension/hardware parts) nothing else would fit the original TA05 chassis.

k. im seeing things! but it looks like the center layshaft is aligned on the 05MS and 05? or am i just "hoping" and "wishing" for the equal belt lengths?

i have 8 spare belts for the 05.. if/when i get this car, i wanna use them up

The red line marks the centre line of the 05 motor. The blue line marks the centre line of the 415 motor. As you can tell from the chassis cutout the centre line of the 05MS motor is right between them.

Sorry, looks like you will need to find a buyer for all those belts...

This chassis design makes more sense then the 415 and TA05, a little more centered then the former, but not to the extreme of the later, allowing you to have a car with more balanced steering then the current TA05. If the weight is comparable to the current TRF415MSX, I think you may be looking at the new chassis of choice for top Tamiya drivers. I do wonder about the durability of the cantalever designed Spur gear holder, it would seem under the loads of a Mod / low turn brushless motor the bearings would be susceptable to damage. I also wonder if the steering is of similar design to the MRE or if Tamiya has improved upon that also - Only time will tell.

Why do they make so many nice kits??? It's starting to piss me off. How much money can I spend before the wife finds out? I think Tamiya is trying to break me.

i hope that Tamiya could lower the actual price from their MSRP for thats really an expensive kit. got my 415 MRE for about 43,000 yen so the 05MS should be about 35,000 to 40,000 yen
