My view on the TA05MS:

- Wondering why was there a need for TA05MS after the recent launched of

1. TRF 415 MRE
2. TRF 415 MSXX
3. TA-05R

From these latest pics, we can clearly seen that the TA05MS is actually a production version of the Tamiya 30th anniversary car with bits of TRF415
MRE, MSXX retained.
1. TRF415MSX Marc Rheinard Edition is discontinued.
2. TRF415MSXX is a replacement of the MRE, and current flagship chassis.
3. TA05-R is designed for GT2 or GT Tuned classd.

Therefore, TA05MS is for top competition along with TRF415MSXX.

... then the following month TA05TRF MSX

... then TAO5 TRF MSXX???

hahaha

by now we should've gotten used to it...
maybe we'll see a 416 by end of the year? who knows...now that they got 501X for the offroad WC maybe they will start developing more on 416.

anyway TA05 is still a great car

Back to Darkseid comments:

There is no need to join the hype about TA05MS if you already a owner of the above chassis and you are happy with them because Tamiya need to come up new products every month to have you go out and slide that 'plastic card'...
This nothing new with the TA series. Since the TA03, they will release at least 3 or 4 incarnations of DD CF TA TC's (got those, I'm moving quick)

TA03 jun edition
TA03 TRF special
TAO3R-S TRF special (best EVER)
TAO4 ltd
TA04 ltd TRF
TA04 ltd TRF with cheese.....
...etc.

So after the "R" edition, we are bound to get at least 5 more TA05 CF Deck kits. Then I suspect 416 will show up at IFMAR????
I'll just stick to my R and gaze at my 30th anniversery Porsche until the "World Champion ltd edition" comes out....YEA TAMIYA !!!

However, the MS would likely keep me at bay from building my Porcshe!!!

Has anyone put the Pro Mod suspension on a TA05? I'm tempted to do it, curious if anyone else has.

For my part it sounds like the double deck MS will be a carpet car.

TA05 is a fantastic chassis. I agree with some of you that the drive train, motor position which sets it in a different dimension from the other high performance double deck graphite chassis - 415, Cyclone, Yokomo BD, Stallion.

Tell me, apart from the centre pulley, how different are these graphite chassis from each other? The suspension layout probably? But fundamentally, it is similar. Which was why, I love the TA05. It brings a new life into touring car racing.

I was already excited that Tamiya came up with the 30th Anniversary version. And now with the release of the TA05MS I am basically on cloud 9.
(Though I got to say the TA05IFS is rather weird).

I will for sure get the MS, which I intend to use to run the modified class.
TA05R shall remain my 23T stock car.

Wonder if any of the TRF drivers will use the MS for big races. It will be really exciting if the MS beat the 415, Cyclone, Yokomo BD and a Stallion.

Pro Module installed, despite the Pro Mod set saying you need to push the shock tower towards the back of the car, I found on the TA05, I had to remove some spacers for the shocks and keep the tower where it was.

Will update on handling soon!

TA05R screws...

Do the stock philips head screws have the same thread pitch as the aftermarket 3Racing, RCscrews, Tamiya, etc hex drive screws?

Just wondering because I am impatient and just want to start building the car before I buy screws. So when I have Ti or replacement ones I'll just switch them out.

Yes, they are all 3mm machine screws, so they will work with aftermarket.

Don't use the screws that come with your 3Racing hop-ups, they strip easier than the stock Tamiya ones
