Of course it may only be noticeable in the hands of a more advanced racer with consistent laps, but it's still a factor. Martin recalled a driver who just raced 4-cell mod overseas, their speeds down the straight were almost 9 mph slower, but overall the saved weight from 2 cells gave them better laptimes than 6-cell would, as they could race the lighter car around corners that much faster. Same case for 1/12th scale, half the weight of a 1/10th, thus can be faster in the turns.

On the other hand, more things can go wrong with a 415 than a TA05.. tweak, parts breakage (LW susp vs. TA04 susp.), and a higher sensitivity to setup changes. The tub TA05 is way more forgiveable both in terms of durability and setup, and that's why I love it. I can focus more on driving and less on tinkering with the car. I even find the TA05 Xenon chassis, though lighter, can be harder to get a decent setup to race.
Agreed, I now have both cars myself(an MSX & my TA05), & while I love both, I am DEFINITELY getting better laps & runs from the MSX, but I believe by far the reason for it is the difference in weight. When I ran my '05 in the Brushless class at the Novak race, it was weighing in at over 60 oz.(& that was even before I added the optional heat sink that becomes part of the can), but when I used the same setup on my MSX, that car weighed in at about 55.8 oz., & with my brushed setup(a GTX & Co27 motor) it went down to 51.8 oz.. And that made a HUGE difference in how the MSX feels through corners, both handle beautifully, but my MSX is just lighter on its feet(quite literally), but of course, it is more sensitive to hits, tweaking, setup changes, etc, while the '05 is ALWAYS easy to throw down & start driving(which is why it'll be my weapon of choice for TCS racing outside), so I'm keeping BOTH at the ready.....

Seems like we all run a TA05 AND an MSX!
My MSX is purely for carpet, the TA05 I find is better suited for a larger asphalt track as it takes more hits (limestone walls!) and is simply a tougher car, but still competitive against people in my class with the T2's etc I have run the 3 racing CF chassis, looks awesome but, the Tub is far more forgiving on the asphalt surface.

Thanks a lot for the help with the diffs. I guess I never realized that you had to break them in but I guess it makes sense. Also when I built the diffs I didn't grease them up that much so that could be a factor too!
