I just ordered a TA05 (switching from RDX) and rather then going through 216 pages worth of stuff I was hoping someone could summarize everything I need to know about this car and the must have upgrades. I got the Penguin chassis for it, got the dogbones, alum hingepin blocks, upgraded diffs and diff box. Anything I should be careful to watch out for? What parts most often break? (hopefully not often since thats the reason Im switching to this car).

How about the Reversible Lightweight Suspension, aluminum rear uprights, TRF Damper Set.

Thanks for the links But I should have made myself more clear. I'm trying what gear combos the guys are running for the TCS races for the TA05. Sorry for the confusion.

Thanks

Paul

Oh I did get the Damper set. What is the reversibile lightweight suspension? Part # is fine and I will research it...

Do the rear uprights break frequently to require aluminum?

My only advice would be to hold on to the original chassis. Or at least get yourself a carbon tub for back up. I've noticed that a lot of the people who go to those aftermarket plate chassis are happy with the look of the car, but not with the performance.

As for parts breakage. Just pick up the basics.(arms, knuckles, C-hubs) and watch them gather dust since you wont break any. But the only thing I would say "have extras of" would be the front bumper(which comes on a parts tree). We've had some breakage issues with it around here. Often times we don't even know how the breakage occured. Plus, the TA05 shares this part with the popular F103GT. So its kinda hard to come by. So if you have a chance to pick up an extra one just to have in the parts box, do it.

An "upgrade" that puts the TA05 on the same breakage level as a JRX-S!

Thanks for the help! I assume they dont make a Rubberneck bumper for the TA05?

I cant wait to take it out on the track. I race with a Penguin sponsored driver so if Im not happy with the chassis I will let him know about it (and make him fix it!)

I ran the reversible susp at the Novak with 13.5 brushless and slammed the sweeper twice and went flying 10 feet into a concrete wall and never broke any thing. Still ran great after that! Just saying...

now now Darkseid... the LW susp. is NOT that bad. then again.. i race at the Tamiya track... so i dont have solid track borders like some of the tracks that you guys race at

orbital... try the original chassis or carbon chassis first. they are as good if not better than the higher priced CF chassis.
