When I took a look at the object, it was a box with some wordings like KO VFS-1 Pro and inside I found this ! .......(Yeah, Yeah ! right !)

Now the problem is that I do not know what settings this KO esc is at (Stock or Mod) pending the purchase of a handheld programmer/ PC interface or another Garbage truck passing by. Anyone familiar with this ESC ?
Chris ? ....I need to know what profile is the factory default setting good for.
Another related problem is that the stock TA05 gearing ratio is from 7.50:1 to 6.30:1 .....neither Stock nor Modified ?!?

Here a pic of the Electronics I'll be putting into the TA05.

ghostfit.....great pictures. great ESC! great radio. i was all ready to help you then i saw the servo? just kidding...

for someone who likes to match.. dont you want a KO servo? hitec servos are great. but RC is a sick addiction thats all about matching!

in my signature there's a link to the VFS-1 thread. im on there a lot same with an employee from Ko Propo USA (Robert Morris). we're there to help.

anyone have a spare tub? my tub chassis got ripped to shreds already!

Hoo-hah! I finally found an online store that carries the TA-05. $180 USD shipped, should be at my doorsteps sometimes early next week!

It would have been about the same if I'd buy from those two regardless. Plus I always want to buy something directly from Japan.

I'm pretty average, financially... It just that if you've been in the hobby for as many years as I have, you'll accumulate just as much "junk" (That's what my wife calls its anyway !)

Huh ! ...what's my aeroplane stuff doing here ? boy, you guys are SHARP !... Chris, you are right, I'm waiting for the latest KO digital servo to hit the LHS (the current ones they have can't be programmed).

The reason you see a Hitec digital servo is because I'm currently fooling around with servo programming (Hence the HFP-10 you see in the pict )

I wonder how many of you guys noticed the CVA Super mini shocks that came with the TA05 ? they certainly have a shorter shock body as compared with the previous budget CVA shocks, I've taken a pic of the old , the new and the latest TRF shocks bodies for comparision purposes.
Tamiya really went to great lengths to lower the CG of this car !

Heh.. I first saw the oil bottle they threw in the box, and I was thinking, geez, they're getting cheap! Then I actually looked at the shocks (I just threw the aluminum ones right in at first) and I saw why..

One neat thing, though, the silver springs they throw in are basically yellow on-road springs without the colour, not some super-soft cheap ones.. Nice and stiff for starters, although I already have plenty of those yellows as it is..

Well, if you have a stock Mini somewhere, it'd be a good upgrade from friction shocks...

One question, how tense should the belts be? I put it at the default setting according to the manual (two marks from the dot) with the aramid belts, but it seemed tight. Should I be able to push the belt down to touch, say, the servo turnbuckle, or the chassis braces?

And is it me, or does the rear diff "half-cover" coming from that rear brace make it harder to put that diff in? Or am I doing something wrong? I've already notched it a few times..

i did get a chance to run mine this weekend, at the TCS in Memphis. ran it on Sat in the club race in 19T.

first impressions.... wow. nice build, very smooth drivetrain. used the diffs at this time. basically the box setup at first....

in GT3 i ran it (shhh!) a bit, switched to blue springs f+r, as well as yellow sways, B3 tires on freshly resealed asphalt. Qual'ed 2nd, but finished 3rd overall, as well as 5th in Mini....

Are these shocks Tamiya FL Coated Threaded Shock Set TAM53571 the same size as these? Tamiya TRF Damper Special Edition Set (Blue) TAM49355? Also any ideas when the Tamiya red shocks will be coming out?

Default WARNING!!!

WARNING!!! Novak brushless SS and SS-Plus ESC WON'T fit the TA05 ESC space. So far the only way I can find is put ESC over servo, or put 8mm spacing under ESC for more space ...

The ESC land space is 43x38mm

AE turnbuckle? what turnbuckle.. I need to findout how to mount my ESC first...

Default TRF415 steering rack.. WONT fit!

Another note

TRF415 steering rack won't fit TA05. The CF plate of course need to be replace (way too wide). The alum horn is in the same 2D layout BUT 2mm higher than TA05 spec.

Why 2mm higher? because there is 1.3mm extra column on chassis. If we sand it out.. it MIGHT work. I haven't decide if I going to mod it or not.

Yeah, all of the LRP-series Runners, F1's, etc. won't fit at all either, or at least flat down on the chassis.. You'll have to sit them on their side. My surprise when I tried my F1 Pro Reverse.. looks like I'm swapping it out..

I just fit a 17T pinion from my Mini onto the TA05, and it looks like it has enough space on the mount for a 16T for sure...

Wwould be a good ratio for 19T and mod motors?

I guess they were just too lazy to put out the whole pinion chart on the sheet. They wanted to make the 105T option look that much more desirable. Sure, you get a great range of ratios, but they can strip out a lot easier if you don't mesh them right... plus they're more expensive than the regular AV pinions.

Pulleys: 36/16 = 2.25 IR
Spur: 70T
Pinion Spur/Pin Final Ratio
16 4.38 9.844
17 4.12 9.265
18 3.89 8.750
19 3.68 8.289
20 3.50 7.875
21 3.33 7.500
22 3.18 7.159
23 3.04 6.848
24 2.92 6.563
25 2.80 6.300
Does anyone sell 48-metric 26+ pinions? It sure looks like there's enough mount space to fit larger ones than 25. Although our TCS rules limit the max ratio to 5.7, it looks like we may never hit that mark with the TA05.

Theoretically, we could see 3 more with aftermarket pinions...
26 2.69 6.058
27 2.59 5.833
28 2.50 5.625

I know people were looking for larger ones for the TB-02 and the 52T Spur... any luck?

Default Diff width

Diff width, from bearing to bearing, is 17mm. TRF415 front one-way/spool is 20mm. So... nope, TRF415 front whatever wont fit TA05...

As chassis, here is photo compare with TRF415 chassis, about 15mm wider.
