Tam,
I'll send you a pic later today. You can actually mount the GTX and capacitor side by side. It fits real nice.

How do you tap a flat graphite chassis topdeck? I want to make those holes countersunk do I need some special tool? Paying machine shops are expensive.

I got a special tool with my craftsman drill that will counter sink stuff. It has a drill bit on one side and a fatter bit on the other. Simple to use.

looks like a TRF car.... another big hole in my pocket.....
it's painful to see for those who upgraded their cars to make it look like 'trf spec' and end up the trf car is totally different... ha...

Yeah it will be a big hole in my pocket as well. I would say its good and bad. If you are racing your car in a class with 415's, and Evos, then I am sure you are going to look forward to getting the part numbers for the upper and lower decks. If you race a more spec class, it won't bother you much since most will stick with the tub chassis.

This was rumored to be a 05-R, but they announced they will release an 05-R type model towards the end of the TA05 production life as they usually do.

or maybe since they are so successful with the TA05 line, instead of waiting until end of it's life, they release a different model of TA05 which resembles a competition car, with MRE steering rack as well. Those who already upgraded their TA05 would still buy this version...

ah... tamiya and their marketing wonders....

i dont know why people think they will wait until the ta05 becomes unpopular before they come out with a "R" version. its like the trf415msx it was still a popular car before they released the MRE

i remember that speculation on when the 'R' version will come out was based on previous series, like 03 and 04. IMHO the sense of tamiya in doing that is that they want people to spend money on hop ups first. if they release it too early, people might end up waiting, but they love to make people impatient so instead of waiting, they want us to buy and hop up. well it's a speculation. only tamiya knows what they're doing.
