I'm planing on starting with a 104/35 when I race next week. Hopefully this should be in the ball park with a 19 turn.

I'm just trying to get all my basic tuning options lined up before I get to the track.

try a 104x33 first...................

Florine coated is the way to go with the short mini springs. Almost all of the guys at my track are running them.

Just picked up my stabilizer set. Can't wait to get this car on the track.

I'm prob. going to pick up those shocks in about 2 weeks. Unless someone has an extra set that they are willing to part with .

Any advice on a good starting point for carpet rubber tire?

Any suggestions for gearing for Laurel Md TCS race (outdoor). I was told to run 48p outdoors and 64p indoors but cant find the part numbers for either. Only hopups will be cvds up front, precision diff joints, & precision center bushing. Also, what pinion would be best? running GT3 Silvercan class. Have to stick with stock everywhere else due to my moving at the end of the month so not much time to get it ready or order parts.

Just pick up any 64p spur gear up to 105T, for both indoor and outdoor.. saves you having to buy the extra pinions.. I've never had a problem running outside.

For a silver can, gear at 5.0 to 5.5:1 to start with, so with a 88T spur, try a 39 pinion for larger tracks, down to a 36 for smaller, tighter ones.

Any other motor will gear fine with a 105T spur and all its available, but the silver can is an exception.. I'm not sure if you could fit a 47T pinion..

Hello everyone... after 20 years I decided to get back into RC racing. I've forgotten alot in that time, and boy have things changed!

I have some newbie questions I hope you TA05 gurus can give me some suggestions on. I've read the first 70 pages of this thread, there's some great information in here!! I run my TA05 on a tight indoor carpet track, on sauced rubber tires. Stock 27t Revenge of Monster motor. IB3600s.

1. Does anyone have any tight carpet track setup tips? Car is all stock except I do have the swaybar kit (none on the car as I get used to stock settings). The manual doesn't really have much to say about this.

2. Gearing reccomendations? I am running 19/70 and it flies but man does it get hot. It isn't much cooler than the stock 22/70 although it does accelerate better. Drop some more teeth on the pinion? Or is this normal for these crazy batteries and motors (remember my last experience with electric was in the 80s!!)

3. What is a good place to start with respect to gearing and this motor if I go to a large outdoor track?

4. Question on belt tightness: with the stock 2-clicks from center setting on the adjuster, the belts wander around on the pullies. Is this normal? I don't get any slippage except a few clicks on full out braking (this is normal on my Losi XXX4, so I assume this is also normal on this car).

5. How tight do I want to run my diffs for a tight indoor, or larger outdoor track? I have never run 4wd onroad before, so tuning the diffs is new to me.

Thanks in advance!
