this won't be legal. i believe TCS rules prohibited removal or cutting out of chassis parts. well they didn't say it's to adjust flex but they can simply accuse you of doing it to lighten the chassis

Well, than I guess the only way to make stock chassis even more flex is removing 4 outer screws of brace. I did that before I cutoff the brace to make it lighter....

I would think just removing the screws would be ok?

I don't see why they wouldn't let you omit screws.. just say you "forgot" to put them in.. heh.. it's not up to tech to say, "hey, you missed a screw here.. put one in..", since it would be your own fault if it fails on the track

I believe the 4-hole johnson (if a non-RC dude comes by and reads this, they'd think we're sickos ) also has 4 screw holes at the end.. I have one, and the vent holes near the endbell are almost half the size of the newer ones. I think the newer ones have 3 screw holes.. not sure what that third one is for, though

Hey guys, when using the Tamiya Carbon Fibre shock towers with the standard chasis and TRF shocks, is it necessary to use the C/F spacers as well? What do you lose by leaving them out?

you can use either the c/f spacer on the shock tower mount or use the blue spacer that comes with the c/f shock tower on the shock mounting position.

If you are not going to race it, I don't think you need to take any mod on TA05 to run GTB+4.5R. GTB can fitin TA05 tub chassis without any mod/hopup.

Maybe steel CVD is the the only hopup you need, I don't know, never used stock dogbone before.

Try to replace the stock diff halves to the option ones like the 3 racing alloy version as this will be able to handle the increase power of the 4.5R.

For bashing I would stick to front diffs instead of one way so you still have 4 wheel braking

Guess is the a 4.5R will need 10:1+ ratio

I haven't use my stabilizers in my car for track racing so not sure if it any use for bashing other than blinging the car.

How much is the difference between original Dampars and the "3Racing Alum Dampar set from Tamiya Car" or a simular set?

I boughta set of aftermarket dampers, it is hard to find springs that fit them right. Just go to eBay and get a Tamiya set.........

Dont get other shocks. TRF shocks are one of the best. Non tamiya kits use them. too.
