Nexus,

If he keeps driving it like he did on Sunday it won't be long till he does.
The car looked great and there isn't a single hop up on it yet.

46mm

OOPS.. EDIT... 48mm if you are using the standard blocks... 46mm for the narrower ones.

I want to put some foams on my 05 and see what this baby can do, but it looks like the front rim is too close to the ball cup on the front. Anyone running foams how have you got past this problem?

I'm currently building mine, but I can't get the RX antenna into the antenna tube. It goes in half way, but then it just gets too hard to push in. There's nothing stuck in there. It's my first car, so I'm guessing there's usually some tricks to getting it in?

Also, I bought the universal shaft hopups. Are these actually much help since they're made of plastic and the stock ones are metal? Thanks.

Just run some shims in the front. The axles on the 05 are extra long, so you can put 1.5mm worth of shims on each side and then it should just clear the foams. I also shave just a hair off the outside ball cup for an extra 1/2 mm or so of clearance. I personally don't like cutting down 28mm foams to 26 or 27 to clear it. I run the 6mm aluminum hexes with a 0.5mm shim. The stock plastic hexes are 5mm.

First, straighten out the antenna as much as possible. Antenna usually come bundled up, so just run your fingers down it a couple times to straighten it some. Don't tug too hard though, you don't want to break the antenna. Then to get it through the tube, just take a little shock oil, rub it between your fingers, then slide the antenna through your fingers. Then try sliding it through the tube, it should go right through.

Your universals shouldn't be made of plastic. If you bought the right hopup, they should be made of metal. It may be dull color black or something, but it should still be made of metal.

Awesome darkseid. I thought about that, but is there any chance that the shock oil could interfere with the radio reception?

It will be fine, anything that makes it slippery, I have even used a little spit down the top of the tube at times, lol.

Has anybody ran a carbon fiber chassis on a TA05 yet? I'm getting a 3 racing Carbon fiber chassis and i'm wondering if i'm going to see a very good improvemnt in performance.
