Theres no question...it's much stiffer. Looks nice too with the gray tint to it.

Masa is the man...4 days from Japan!!

Should be around 40-50 grams lighter (just shy of 2 ounces) with the graphite pieces. No doubt Darkseid will have his together and weighed before mine is half done

No BIG secret, just was in the basement trying to put my car back together. CIVIC and I ordered together from RC Champ. Like he said, 4 days from Japan...just under $60 shipped for each of us, for all the new graphite components.

After weighing everything a couple times, I'm seeing weight savings closer to 3-3.5 ounces than 2ounces.

With my 3700 cells, the car weighed about 55ounces with tall foams on and body. Now it weighs about 52ounces.

With my Platinum Lipo in, the car weighed 48.7 ounces without the body. It now weighs about 44.9 without the body.

Thats just the weight... The new chassis is stiffer all by its lonesome than the stock chassis is with the car fully built.

I look forward to getting it on the track, doubt it will be this weekend though...Regional Oval race happening... So I guess I'll just have to look at the car till then.

3 oz. should put me right at the legal limit, 51oz. !

Mine seems as stiff without the braces on yet as thestock chassis felt with the braces on.

And if anyone was wondering...Tamiya slotted it for tape!!

Yeah, with those heavy azz 3700 of mine, 52oz. is pretty amazing. Its nice to know that if I decide to run regular packs again, I wont be 3-4oz. over weight.

But since I wasn't too worried about the weight to begin with, I'm more interested in how the car will handle now. You said yours improved with the addition of the Tech upper deck, so I can't wait to see how the car is with everything stiffer.

One things for sure, this thing is stiff!

Anybody considering a plate chassis just to add stiffness, you would do well to consider the graphite composite chassis instead. It'll be cheaper and just as stiff.

It almost feels as rigid without any top deck as the old chassis set felt completely assembled

Exactly!!!

Its quite amazing that they can acheive that while at the same time shaving a ton of weight of the chassis.

One more thing to take note of...

I noticed that my belt tension was tighter after installing the new chassis, even with everything set the same as before.

After initial belt stretch had settled in after running my car for a while, I ended up being one notch(on the diff adjusters) looser than the kit setting up front, and being at the kit setting in the back. Now I have moved to one notch looser in the back as well, to adjust to the new chassis and belt stiffness. I left the front the same since it still seems loose enough, and I had started to notice belt skipping under breaking at recent races. So it should be perfect now.

Just something you guys might want to check after you finish installing everything.
