What gearing do you use for monster stock pro? I use the stock spur and 22 pinion but still feels too low and the car just doesn't have any top end. Doesn't tamiya make any smaller spur?

your gear is a 3.18 to1 I run a 3.48 to1 with a 100 foot straight You may be over geared.

Go Here and you can figure out your roll out in mm.`s with a 100 foot straight I am running a 25.4 mm. roll out. thats a 106 x 31 in 64 pitch......

Why worry about if Tamiya makes a smaller spur? Just go to standard 48 or 64pitch gears. Then you can go with whatever gearing you want.

One thing--- where the motor mounts on (chassis), it's protruding. Would that be a potential problem?

It was an idea of myself, got someone from these boards to do the cad drawings (cause I can't) and then had them machined. The topdeck isn't quite right as yet and there is some misalignment on the chassis which is to be rectified on the next one. Will also be looking at making a better motor mount/bulkhead to, but one step at a time.

seems to me that your idea is to substitute the 'endbell protector' with that protruding part. but IMHO that part will only scrap the asphalt when the car rolls. thus affecting the cornering.
