chrome/mike, the ball you are reffering to is from the ta04 racing upright set. I will look for the number for the ball only.

I wonder if they'll let me race this car at the TCS in Maryland next month since it'll be out this month???

what's the weird turnbuckle from the motor to the rear shock tower?!

im guessing its like on 1/8 buggys it acts like a upper deck

Anything more than a silver can will probably fold the back of the chassis up, causing the belt to skip. An upper deck would be a better alternative.
Its not as stiff (at least a stock version) as a TB02. The chassis has very low sides for a tub.

Could it simply be a brace to try and stop torque steer?
or something to do with belt tension?

The rear of the chassis would have longitudinal flex, the tie rod will stop this but will let the torsional flex remain, thus making it easier for the people who will be using this car. It looks like a top deck could be created, im sure this will come out at a later date.

looks nice for a ta series car. as to the tie rod, is this car still a prototype? maybe it will change for a plastic upper deck when it goes into production

Currently on The Tamiya Japan Website It says 7/3 (was 6/29)
there are some parts that say 7/16
