Wink Insider information?

I heard from a reliable source on the inside that Tamiya has a 4mm lower chassis in the works and may include a front diff. Maybe some kind of a conversion kit for carpet. This if for the 415. But for the 05 this same insider mentioned some kind of hop-up to help stiffen the chassis. Not sure if it will be an upper deck, he seemed to suggest possibly a torque bar or bars or mid-deck type design like the 415.He wasn't real clear on that issue, but all of this he said is likey coming sometime next year!
P.S. Try and keep this info confidential!

Default wait for weight?

to all the ta05 owners, what does your ta05 weigh, and with what options are you using?
and how much weight does the lightweight suspension alone shave off?

More Ta05 chassis options....

Though I think these guys know a little more about developing the TA05 platform than other after-market manufacturers

But thats just it, how can they be sure what we "need". There have been just as many people happy with the stock chassis as there have been people calling for a stiffer set up. 50/50 at best. I would certainly "like to have" the carbon chassis(just because I like the look of it ), but I wouldn't call it "NEED". At least not for me.

And remember, at the same time some may "NEED" the upperdeck/stiffer chassis, other people don't care about that and instead insist that they "NEED" a one-way, center one-way, arimid belts, alloy shocks, etc... and Tamiya have delivered those quickly.

"NEED" to me would be things that were too weak or broke easily right from the box. And to Tamiya's credit, there doesn't seem to be any part that would qualify for that. And thats saying something considering I have seen(and owned) $300+ kits that have one or two weak links that leave the car sitting on your shelf for weeks on end while you wait for replacements or upgrades that you truely "NEED".

that motor mount cover is simply a work of art. Seeing the parts that are coming out for this car makes me want to own two of them. One for TCS(and 19t racing at club races) and one only for club races (and mod or...yuk...stock )

Hey Steve,

Will you be bringing in the 3Racing hop ups for the TA05 too? Any prices on them yet?

I have a small issue with my TA05,

I am running the TRF shocks and Tamiya white short springs,

if I put in the normal springs the ride height cannot be made any lower than 7mm

are there any short springs harder than the white one's available ?

thanks

Note that there are 2 versions of the lower spring perch, the Alloy ones are quite flat, and you shouldnt have any issues with ride height, while the kit TA05 perches are quite raised, and thus you wont be able to get the ride height down.

If it is still too high with the TRF perches, you could try some associated style perches, which allow the spring to actually sit lower again than the std ones.
