Exclamation

I thought that initially but the grinding has become almost too loud to be a bearing. It sounds almost like a stripped gear but it definately is not one.

Just check your bearings. I've done this myself--took the car apart not believeing it's the bearing only to find out it was and wasted a couple of hours of my life.

Please tell me someone in this forum has had a similar issue and is able to help!
Even the tinyist of debree will cause a noise. Look very closely and you will find something I GARONTEE IT! or your money back!

Thanks, Jeffreylin I'll check the bearings. No, I'm not running dogbones on the axels. I just checked and it does seem to only make the noise with the motor in. what do you suspect the problem may be cookie_monst?

Anyone else with any Carpet Ozite setups w/ rubber or foam tires and monster stock motors?

Most of us are heading indoors for the Season, either at Hobby World(Gilroy, CA) or to Stockton RC Raceway.
Isn't the ROAR divisional race coming up in Gilroy? The track is awesome, I'd like to run a race there but don't you have to pay a membership fee to do a ROAR race? The Tamiya Champs were going up there to practice for the Japan race.
Not sure when?

I can see that if you use large battery bars, it does get pretty close to the alloy motor mount. Thing is though, that only one battery bar is within' reach of the mount. Which means that even if by some off chance that bar did make contact, it wouldn't do anything. You would have to have a bridge between at least two bars before any shorting could occur.

Thats kinda a long winded way of say you have nothing to worry about!

Had the same problem, ...changed the spur gear, sound disappeared.

.....5 packs later, sound reappeared, close inspection revealed a tiny grain of sand had lodged in the valley of the spur (almost need a microscope to see it)
dug it out, ......some how, it seems the motor mount / chassis will amplify the sound of a less then perfect gear mesh.

Someone asked for a foam tire carpet setup for Monster Stocks. I posted mine a few pages back.

You think we kidnap just anybody?
Arnold Schwarzenegger goes to boracay and nothing has happened to him....yet.
Maybe if it was Bill Gates or Donald Trump.

If that is the case, check the spur and the pinion first for any signs of damage, also, put the pinion onto the motor and spin the motor (anti-clockwise as you look at the pinion) and see if you get the ticking noise then, if you do, thats your brushes.
