I would like to try and run my 12th pan as it is with the 10.5.....but I am curious what motor they usually run in the mod class.

At our track right now it seems the normal mod motor is 5T - 3.5T. 10.5T Boosted could get you pretty close to them (everywhere but coming onto the straight) and probably be easier to drive. Pending you are able to get the boost/turbo timing correct for the track.

There are a few of us that have been trying out mod recently .. 3.5, 4.0, 10.5-Boosted have all been run. If I remember correctly the 10.5 Boosted setup was competitive and probably easier to drive.

Against those of us who are mod novices the 10.5 boosted setup was destroying souls. However, with the competition at MHIC the 10.5 boosted will likely be a bit off-pace, so it really depends on how competitive you want to be.

The beauty (and tragic flaw) of mod is that you can run whatever motor you want.

Thanks for the responses, I am trying to get timeoff to come out there.

But for now my 12th pan is the only thing that would likely be legal to run. My TC6 17.5 sedan may be legal, but still has a Novak SS in it and I finally decided I need a newer motor with some timing to keep up with the Joneses in our class here.
I am guessing that 17.5 sedan will be an extra competetive class there? In our area thats the class for most of our fastest racers.

I am not worried about winning, just dont want to be "in the way", especially if I am out gunned that badly. I have a decent handle on my 10.5 blinky at our local track, but its a small class.

We upped our 1/10th pan class to a 2 cell 10.5 and so far I have only finished 60% of my races with it we run in a basketball gym with cinderblock walls so any mistake is usually costly with that much speed.

In WGT is the Sophia the only body allowed? I'm sorry , but I want to gag everytime I see one of those. I hate to think that's all that is allowed. I have an old Porsche on mine and would like to run it.

Rules for bodies in wgt will be the same as nats.
You have the Sophia, Parma, Mcallister, or protoform corvette.
There are rumors of a new Ferrari coming from protoform, if it is legal for nats, it will be legal for our race.

Hope that helps
