Default xray T 2 speed?

Guya I got my hands on a 2008 T 2. Has a reedy 19t motor in it and today was my first run with it. Wow this thing is slow I put gps in the car and she got 30.5mph is this normal? What speeds should I be expecting out if this car? Had dreams of at keast 50mph.

Sooo many factors that can play into that, batteries, gearing, type and quality of motor, etc.

Put in a 3.5T brushless, 3 cell lipo, and an ESC that can handle it. Gear it to the moon, and see what happens.

The chassis is not the limiting factor though.

Just upgraded it to a brushless motor And ESC. Orca's way if you bashing, and want pure speed. Will exceed 50mph.

With a 19t brushed , 30.5mph is about right , depending on gearing. If you want speed , put a Novak 3.5t in there with their upcoming Pulse Esc , and you will be faster than anybody else, without having to purchase a laptop to program the Esc......

Yeah sorry, was definitely pointing towards bashing. We have a guy that comes into our local hobby shop that was building a high speed electric car. With an 8.5 (no idea the ESC at the moment) and 2s, he was running 60+. After ripping off the right side of the car with a curb, he was rebuilding with an even faster motor and 3s. Not my thing, but seemed where the OP was heading with it?

Yeah! I have a T1 w/Tekins RSPro & 3.5Redline. Doing 92mph by gearing. That was a last year. 4.400 lipo from maxamps.
You can easily go with 3s lipos. Go with Brushless motors they'll last longer.
