Default first runout

Ran the car today for 5 rounds and a final. First 4 rounds ran as kit standard, best lap was 13.19.
Changed too long top arm and next run 13.09 and last run 12.74 car held its line so much better through the corners. No signs of pushing.Ran with 1s 10.5 boosted. Going to change my 1/12th car now r5.2.

I ran my car today too. Minnreg Turkey Shoot on a temp carpet track. Open layout, medium grip.

I TQ'd Q1 and Q2. Mike Boylan got me in Q3 by 1/2 sec. I got a holeshot and lead the first few laps in the main. Mikes passed me when i made an error. I was gaining until traffic issue put me in 5th.

I am just getting back to racing after 7 years off. The car was great. I expected more traction and made my tire a bit too small. The car was fast and smooth. Once I get more wheel time I will be even faster.

Setup attached.

I can vouch for Adrian. Saw the car when he brought it in. Looked at it in the pits and on the track. Not bad for a rusty veteran after 7 years off. Both looked good and glad to see him back into racing my favorite class WGT. See you in Jan., at the same place only this time I hope I do much better.

Unfortunate discovery about the R5.1. Jaco tires fit great. BSR/CRC rear tires do not work well at all. The molding on the center bore of the BSR wheel has a step and the center flange of the R5.1 hubs are very low. This makes it so there is nothing to center the BSR rear wheels on the rear hubs leading to serious wobbling.

IRS axles for example have a longer center flange to locate and center the rim. Unfortunately I think the offset for the right drive hub is different than IRS' so there is no current solution other than to run Jaco tires.

IRS has a short clamp hub that should fit. It is not in an axle kit so you have to buy it separate.
http://teamirsrc.com/index.php?main_...roducts_id=108

edit... i have read it wrong lol, i looked only at the first picture it is the right hub as well

They also have another axlekit specificly for World GT cars. http://teamirsrc.com/index.php?main_...products_id=99
The IRS diff hub in that kit is 23,6mm from diff side to where the tires begin. If the Asso hub has the same width then it should be fine and there would not be an offset of the wheels. Looking at your first picture you still need to buy the short clamp hub separate.

Just make sure to order the correct part. I ordered a left side clamping hub and realized after the fact it was not right for the 10R5. I contacted IRS directly and was told to send it back and "we'll see what we can do about getting your money back". It was my mistake and if they don't take returns, fine but I could do without the condescending attitude. Easy to be a Jersey tough guy wannabee on the phone I guess. Based on that one interaction I would never buy one of their products. Too bad because the part itself looked very nicely made.

Don't let one call sour you to IRS. Dave Irrgang is a super good guy and his axles and hubs are the BEST.

Could be and not sure who I spoke with on the phone. I can only go off my one experience which may not really represent the company. Everyone has bad days. Perhaps I just got lucky?

Yes, the parts are very nicely made. I still have mine sitting on the desk next to my computer. Good luck with the new 10R5.1. I ever get back into WGT it will be near the top of the list. Loved my 10R5 and the 5.1 looks great.

Thats what we ran at the champs and i didn't have any problems. I will look at the wheels tonite to see if they had that step.
