Where are you from Dennis? I will be living in Eindhoven from the 1st of december so maybe we can team up and go to Mol?

I know, but during the day i'm like 200 meters away from that track. So always worth just checking it out.

Teaming up is fine. I'm not a good pancar driver (yet ), I don't even know what tires to run . Also need to find out electronics and stuff. My TC and Offroad stuff won't be sufficient i guess. I live near Eindhoven. It's like a 20 min drive from here. You can ask more per PM

Has the edges of the CF been sanded and sealed with CA? Is it necessary to do it with today's CF?

Joost K. 11-11-2012 02:30 PM

Yes it does, even with today's CF (which is not so different from the old days' CF).

I personally don't sand the edges, just leave then nice and square because when you use your ride height tool it will measure exactly the edge and nothing else but do use CA glue on it.

RoyU 11-11-2012 02:47 PM

Joost K, thanks.

BTW, in the 12R5 thread, was it your car with the blue edging? What did you use?

Joost K. 11-11-2012 02:57 PM

No it wasn't mine, it was from a friend of mine... Robert Krens did that to some of his cars. I don't know what he used to do that, I guess some sort of paint.

Logi Maker 11-11-2012 04:52 PM

I was told not to CA the edges.. just sand smooth and polish....

Potoczak 11-11-2012 06:03 PM

I normally just sand the edges smooth with 600 sandpaper and seal with blue locktite..

So many drivers, so many ways of doing things... Me coming out of Pro10 where we drive at reasonable high speeds I do glue the CF since we do still see de-lamination every once in a while. A force of habit I guess... :D

p.s. Walter: You're picture is upside down LOL

dennisV 11-12-2012 12:35 AM

I always glue my CF. Don't know about WGT, i'm a WGT rookie. Can't wait until it arrives here :D Europe is always a little bit late.

2 Layers of FasColor paint (Fasky blue) and 1 layer of CA.

I do sand the edges, just so it feels much better, and doesn't chip or delaminate.

Regard Robert

Nice Walt! What servo did you end up using? I see you have it all done up in alloy screws, any idea what it weighs? It looks like it would be underweight even with steel screws.

I am using Spektrum 5010 heli servos in all my pan cars.

Not sure on the weight, haven't weighted it yet. I am sure it is close. It does have screw holes in the chassis for ballest weight.
