What about the cone from the 12R5.1 or 12R5.2?
I believe that one is shorter to?

When the car was drawn they used a shorter cone, but that didn't get transfered onto the bill of materials so they used the "normal" 12th one. All kits from this point forward will include a second thrust cone that is shorter and will allow plenty of thread engagement.

If you interested the part number for the short cone is 4555.

From Eric Epp. The have a sneak peak of the new 1/12th body on Red RC. Should be out next week. Like I said, I bet the new "Gianna" WGT body will be out for the Snowbirds.

A few new race bodies have been pushed to the front the line in order to meet deadlines for sanctioning body approval for 2013, so the WGT had been pushed down the 'to-do' list a bit. But according to Dale...

"Progress is being made on getting the PROTOform Gianna her passport. And she's a beautiful Italian Girl."
Hopefully its a Ferrari 599xx

Had a great race last night with the R5.1. Got 4th in the A but mixed it up with 2nd and 3rd for almost the whole race. We all turned 34 laps and finished within 1 sec. I need to drive more consistently and I need some more horsepower. I am not crashing at all but I will blow a corner or two every few laps and it costs me a lot over 5 minutes.

I ran my RS Pro yesterday. I put the Justock back in for next week to see if I loose anything.

I made a very small, simple modification to the carbon center rails that allowed me to mount the RX next to the speed control in the back of the car. This allows me to move the battery forward all the way up to the servo to alter the balance of the car. I want to try some of these battery positions at the next race to see how they effect lap times.

I will post some pics tonight.

Nope...

RC12R5.2 = #4609
RC12R5.1 = #4609

The manual of the RC10R5 says it uses the #4555 so you need the RC10R5 cone of the RC10R5 Oval which uses the same one...

Here are the pics of my changes. Nothing major, just shortened the center spines. The chassis is balanced and now I can try more battery positions.

Anyone who wants to get a new thrust cone will have to contact AE customer service.
AE has no way of knowing who bought the kits since we only ship to distributors.
Email [email protected] He is aware of he issue and should be able to help out.

A very observant racer noticed something I didn't mention as far as another change I made.

I have been running the inline axles since i built the kit. I recent drilled a middle hole between the existing ball stud positions. I did this for the following reasons.

1. Get more Ackermann
2. It lets me shim the ball stud up to eliminate all bump steer
3. It changes the steering ratio speeding up wheel movement.
