I've just had it with brushed crap...they won't allow a 4300 to run with other "stock" motors...so I offered to take off a cell and they said OK. I gear it WAY up (low-mid 5's) with a fan.

I'm not any faster, but I figured that the consistency and extra practice would net me more than the extra power I could gain with a brushed motor.

It's pretty much worked out that way...but now that I can beat some of the slower intermediate guys (with the same 1.15 batteries I ran in novice), now I'm too fast, so the guy who runs the races on Saturdays won't let me run it.

It's gotten to the point where if I am able to pass anyone anywhere on the track, it's because of my "illegal" (but slower) motor...not the extra laps or the new tires or good setup. My car works really well in the tight parts, but when they have a more open layout, I have a rough time keeping up.

Like I said earlier...I don't see how brushless is ever going to actually get going. It has to be faster for half the crowd...but it's too fast for the other half. Meanwhile only the select few fast guys get to run the cheap and dependable motors.

One guy at the track was complaining because my setup was too cheap and consistent for it to be fair. That's the biggest load of garbage I've ever heard.

Can't race on Saturdays anymore, not allowed when Jim is race director. Tuesdays only...when Slim works.
