I would get Xtreme or R/C Car (not R/C Caraction) These two magazine's (IMO) give better review's and better test info. Being new to the hobby and all I'm sure you would like more info on car "A" instead of a two page picture of it. If you want a magazine full of advertisements then get R/C Caraction....again this is just my opinion.

Yep, Extreme or R/C Car always have good articles for people new to the hobby. Sure they are thinner mags, but Tower Hobbies rents a huge section out of Radio Control Car Action every month. A bonus is the subscription rate for Extreme and R/C car are lower too!

If your looking strickly for content, I personally would say go for R/C Car. Both R/C Car and Xtreme have excellent content, but the Xtreme people need to grow up a little with the slapping of womens pictures all over the mag. Its a little pointless to me.

On the other hand, if your a newbie, RCCA(Radio Control Car Action) might be a better choice. Their always running articles for people newer to the hobby. Many of us here complain about the ads in RCCA, but they do serve a purpose by letting you see whats new and being able to easily compare prices between mail-order shops.

The best thing you can do is pick up an issue of each at the news stand and see which you like best. Then subscribe to that one if you wish. Sounds like a cop-out answer, but I do think its the best way to do it.

Remember, just because you subscribe to one mag, doesn't mean you can't occasionally pick up one of the others if they have an article or two that you want to read!

Hustler always worked for me.

On a serious note... R/C Car Action is pretty much a staple for me but if you are in any way like myself you will find yourself buying most of the other publications from time to time based on what's on the cover.. we are all addicted to this hobby aren't we?

The best thing I can suggest is to maybe pick up one of each (if you can) and read each and make a decision from which YOU like. Asking this question will always divide the population. Each has it's pluses and minuses like anything.

Darksied, I'm just wondering why you think having pictures of girls is in any way immature? Are you too old to look at women? I don't get it. Our content is great and it's not shameless girl shots covering bad information. I do see that one of the other titles has girls now too......hmmmm.

Bottom line....read each and form your own opinion. Spending the $15 bucks to get three magazines will give you more bathroom reading time

Do you guys remember just starting out? I dont know about you, but i wasnt looking for which magazine did the best coverage.... i was looking at the magazine that had the pictures of the COOL cars. And when i first started, it was a clodbuster with a jsp conversion on it that attracted me to the hobby.

M3Jokester- what kind of car do you have? buy an issue of each magazine, and see which magazine has more info on your car. Or, if you have the money, subscribe to RCCA, Rc AR AND Xtreme!
