Default Good first on road car?

I mostly bash on my backyard track with a Losi 810e and a Losi SCTE. I'm wanting to get a decent on road car for playing up and down the street and in parking lots. What do you guys think about this for what I'm looking for?

If not, maybe another recomondation. I don't want to have to put a kit together.

Have you seen the Slash conversion ? I had a Slash 4x4 as well that @ one point thought of converting to a (close enough to 1/8 scale) onroad car.

This way if you don't like it - you can convert back. :-)

So are you looking for 8th scale mainly? There are quite a few 10th scale cars that are ready to run. The tc4 rtr is a good car and should have good parts support.I see that you reference amain, they should have a decent of 10th scale rtrs in their inventory. Or your local hobbie shop will have a reccomendation. Just pick a car with good parts support.

If you're just going to run it up and down your street, the shaft driven TC4 would be a good choice. $150 you can get a brand new TC4 club racer (roller), or for $240, you get the RTR, but with a brushed motor and AM transmitter.

I would pick up 10th scale instead of 8th for on-road electro. Like Corners wrote, a TC4 club racer is a good choice. Proven platform and brushless ready. Don't know how the car performs when running mod though. Should be fine.

I disagree on 10th scale. If your just lookin to bash up an down your street and parking lots the 10th scale wouldn't be the best choice. They don't like running on any surface that isn't dead smooth. 1/8 scale cars can run on not so perfect surfaces a plus they are a lot bigger so visual is much easier. If your looking to club race then the 1/10 scale is the way to go since GT8 isn't a very big class.

The RTR electric GT2 is a good choice(if not one of the only choice for GT8 RTR) for someone not wanting to build there own car. Only problem is your purchasing electronics that you will most likely end up wanting to replace at some point down the road to a Mamba or Tekin

Cars like the Ofna DM-1 and GTP2e are 90% built just need to add your electronics.

Default DBX

try the Kysosho DRX VE, it is a Rally car that is based off the DST/DBX off road vehicles.I had a Kyosho DBX VE buggy and it is larger then a 1/10 scale car almost the size of an 1/8 scale buggy plus it has an aluminum chassis for durability. The included radio is 2.4ghz and is nice for an rtr radio.

I sort of agree but I opted for a 10th scale for my grandson, I put slightly oversized wheels and tyres to help with ground clearance and they are better able to cope with small bumps, I put smaller wheels on when we go to the track

The Traxxas Fiestas and Mustangs would be a good choice as well. Based on an off road chassis but with on road wheels and bodies. You get Traxxas tough, plenty of upgrade options and support just about everywhere. If you get bored on road you can turn them into an off road with suspension, wheel/tire and body changes. Plenty of RTR choices, brushed or brushless versions. With gearing and battery changes the speed can be turned up as well.

I just got a GTP2e. It is great and smooth in parking lots. I lift the shock height and run a rally body with proline buggy tires sometimes and it will easily get air! And rolls into my driveway without having to pick it up. Super fun car
