I agree people can buy a good power supply under $60. Hey Dakrat, for the pyramid 20amp, where do you hook the negatuve and postive clips in the side or back.

That's the same one I posted, except it's only $54 at buyreliant.com and shipping is cheaper too

I personally use a modded computer power supply: 25A, three 12v outputs, one 5v output, and weighs less than 2 pounds.

Default Pyramid Power Supply

I have had a Pyramid 10 Amp for more than ten years and it runs great. On mine, clips come from the back of the unit. Internal cooling fan. Easy fuse replacement.

Newbie question: is there a benefit to be had from using a power supply to charge batteries instead of just plugging the charger straight into a socket?

I ask because I just got a Reedy Quasar Pro in a package I bought and I have both options. Thanks!

car audio shops should have it. this ps is specially made for car audio, small and compact.

ciruit city in california sucks they barely have anything. i mean they do have the basic but never the specify, i doubt you will find a PS there. but who knows maybe...

i have only seen that pyramid power supply on ebay. try a ham radio store. i use the samlex 1223 $99.99 that i bought at www.hamradiooutlet.com

Fry's has tons of stuff, check out what your local one has, or you could get a computer one and mod it.
