Default Hobbywing 1S 2.0 ESC NO PUNCH!

I have a hobbywing 1s that I am running in 1s 17.5 blinky pan car, and it has no punch. I swapped it for my Stock Spec V2, and it has great bottom ed punch for the same motor and gears. I turned its punch control up as far as it would go and it made no difference, still accelerates like a dog. The ESC is going to full throttle, and has good top-end, and I don't know what the fix is, does a software update put some more punch into the thing?

Run better batteries? Hobbywing does state that you need high quality batteries with high C ratings.

Okay, all of my boost/turbo is set to zero, with everything else set to their default settings. My punch control I turned all the way up but it made no difference, so I turned it down to the default. my motor is a RevTech 17.5 at about 93 mm of rollout, I run a CRC 60c battery.

Okay, no problem:
Running Mode: forward/brake
Cutoff: 3v/cell
Start Mode: Level 6
Max Brake; 75%
Initial Brake: 0
Neutral: Narrow
Boost Timing: 0 / 00
Turbo Timing: OFF
Boost Start RPM: 15000
Turbo Delay: 0.8s
Timing Punch: 1000 (default)

Maybe I should download the V2.1 software, I have the link...

I am not to familar with the Stock Spec, but are you running it in Blinky Mode? Or are you using boost?

Also, what version of HW Firmware are you running. I think you need to turn up your timing on your motor alittle, and check the temps. I found when running the HW, I had to reduce my rollout abit (4-6mm), and increase my motor timing about 10 degrees.

If you are running in blinky class, you should be running the blinky software (508) which means you need to hook the ESC up to the PC.

For start mode (punch), that should be at the maximum setting (9). Judging from what I read between the lines in the HObbywing thread, you should NEVER run the punch at less than 7 because the software might have a very soft delay on it.

Having said that - if you like your blinky LRP better, why not stick with it? I've done a lot of running with the blinky HW in TC and the brakes are not correct, they have a softness that causes issues on heavy-braking tracks.

I like the Stock Spec, but it's in my mod car.... it's a it's-running-good-don't-break-the-seal sort of situation,

I downloaded the 508 software, so hopefully it will be better now.
