That was me.. months ago.. when I was getting blasted for not responding IMMEDIATELY to a situation in the middle of the work week. I stated I volunteer for this job and sorry to say, the job I do that pays my bills takes precedence over somebody trashing me on a message forum, my email and on my cell phone.

It was never intended to be taken as an excuse. Simply, a request to back off. I apologize for the CONSISTENT misperception it caused.

Raffelli, KennyB, Dawn S.

I thank you for the job you are doing and communicating with us.

But that still doesn't excuse the gross errors that happened this weekend.

First off where are the full results?
I personally do a better job of reporting results of a club race than this National event is.

Second motors that finish in the top 3 or 4 of any level 4 race are required to be tech'd.
Was this done to all motors or just the brushed ones?

If a driver refuses to have his motor tech'd after a race what does ROAR do?
Disqualify that driver?
Thow out the whole results?

Results? Couldn't tell you. The DRO of the event should have taken a disk of the results for the website/RevUP and I'm sure thats in process in the mail. As for the track posting the results, couldn't answer that. I would assume George is working on that as we speak. That duty is left to the host track and I'm sure its being followed up on... I believe Chris posted above that he's working on it.

Tech of motors? Couldn't tell you. I wasn't there and I haven't spoken to the on site official. I know he is in communication with the ROAR President and I'm sure answers to those questions are forthcoming. (not trying to pass the buck, I simply don't know and didn't want you thinking you weren't getting a response.)

Refusing to tech? Yes, the rules say he's DQ'd. Did that happen, somebody refusing? I don't know but this is something that will be looked into.

Thank you for the compliment. I know this is a frustrating situation and I'm at my wits end as well. Patience is most appreciated.

Gary - yea, I received the information I was after... which is why I didn't call you back. I am sorry - bad week last week. The gods of cruelty saw fit to strike me with the flu.

Pre race tech was completley optional as they werent keeping track of what cars were teched. Also post race tech was mandatory but they weren't keeping track of what cars were teched as far as I could tell. No prototype parts were looked for just as I suspected. All that was teched was weight, ride height and body height. That is all I saw being looked at. I saw David really inspecting the batteries of Mike Dumas after the 2nd 19 turn A.

Im also not a big fan of people lining up for a spot on the drivers stand 3 races prior to theirs. This is not possible for some of us becasue we have to work on our own stuff and take our own cars through tech and whatnot.

Perhaps members don't know HOW to become more involved.
Letting them know how they can help is pert of leadership's duties.

I'm in no way saying you are wrong for asking members to become involved. I'm merely pointing out that aside from persuing office, which clearly everyone would not be able to do,
What specifically can the membership do (large and small) to contribute?

=)

I've helped out before with regionals, I teched the cars. I'm assuming people can do the same at national events. If you have free time and there's a big ROAR event in your town, I would ask the track owner if he's in need of help.

thisalways happens...the aftermath.. it doeson't do anygood to cry over it.

1st - event locations.. how many tracks bid this race?
in the past ROAR tries to move the nats race around the country but if only one bid the northeast then youre kinda stuck with it.

We tried to have a 5th scale nats one year and the ROAR officiaLS WANTED TO MOVE IT AROUND THE COUNTRY (EAST COAST) but 90% of the racers are on the west coast.. so you have a nationals with 20 racers show up.

Nats should be run at a track that has already run a major race such as a regionals or major us race. then this ewould not happen.. who awarded thsi race to HC?

These guys are obviousoly inexperienced in running a big race let alone the facility to accomodate everyone and I mean even spectators. What happened to this venue is no ojne else stepped up to hold the race so it was awarded to the only track who bid the race.. It could have been held anywhere and it would have been better.

Right Now ROAR needs to get the program in bettre shape.. track owners loss money putting on a nationals.. why would anyone want to bid it?!

ROAR need to get contingency moeny form the manufacteres/industry to assist tracks in putting on a nationals. or don't hold one.

Last years on road nats in Oregon ended up so expensive with all the sur charges for pits electricty etc hardly any priveateer went.. I figured by the time my whole event was over it would have cost me $75.. a minute to race at the nats!

forget it.

If ROAR had people running the organizatiopn like a business instead of a good old boys club then we'de have a good organization instead its a joke not only here but abrouad as well. EFRA and IFMAR view the US Bloc as amatuerish in the league of novice when it comes to race bodies.

There is no incentive for racers, track owners and new poeple to become and support ROAR and ou sport, just name ROAR ...NORRCA! If all ROAR is is an insurance broker then get AMA insurance its 10x better and they are organized.. they (AMA) wold like to have cars under their domain. soon it may become true.
