A BIG UP 2 FURMDIGY for making the show in Stock and 19. Congrats to A-LO, Dobbs, and Butter for representing the FLA.

Default 1st nats

this was my first and last roar nats, i have never been so dissapointed in an event in my life and could not wait till the race was over, and i am a local. i feel for all those who traveled and wasted thier time, energy and hard earned money on such an unfortunate event.

congrats to all the winners!!!!!!!

Default Scoring System

I had made a suggestion at end of last year's carpet nats about ROAR investing in a scoring system (loop, software, laptop, case to transport it all in) that would be used at their national level events. I was told it would be discussed. Did that discussion ever happen?

Scoring is pretty much the most important piece of the race.

I would think AMB would be willing to give ROAR a discount on the system. I also concure that RC Scoring Pro is a great piece of software and the best one to choose. Finding a fairly cheap laptop to run the software is easy off of eBay. Moreover, this isn't something that should require an annual investment and I would think ROAR could also write this off on taxes.

I would think that the large factory teams would be willing to chip in for the system since their drivers have the biggest stake at these events?

If I understand what you mean, he would have ended up somwhere in left outfield, but keep in perspective this.... THESE ARE TOYS CARS THAT GROWN MEN/WOMEN PLAY WITH FOR FUN. Hardly no one remebers this in the corse of a event such as this. Thank god it is over. It will ultimatley go down in history as the WORST ROAR Carpet Nat's ever, probably the worst major race ever. Nice job guys!

Can't disagree with you there. I know that Butter and Dobbs missed their flight home tonight because of the poor organization on George's and David's part. Now they have to pay for another flight, hotel, and transportation to Bradley Int. on Monday. I feel for them and all the others in the same situation. This not only makes HC look bad but it leaves a dark cloud over CT in general as far as getting any other big races or drawing big racers in the future.

Hope to see you at Madness.

Default interesting

I didnt go to the race but have been reading all these posts about how ROAR sucks and what a horrible race it was.....it got me to thinking about something...The best race I have ever been too is a NON-SANCTIONED ROAR event, and is the biggest, most fun, and glitchfree race out there: SNOWBIRD NATIONALS..... maybe Mike Boylan needs to start his own sanctioning body to replace roar....he is a class act and knows how to get the job done....and everyone has fun....just my 2cents

That wasn't at this race, that was the Roar paved nats in Portland last year. It was disappointing to say the least.

Reread the post dude!
Hector...you had better read your own post again...but let me help you. "Man every track in the last 3 years that roar has approved looks ratty. We have better tracks out there." Other than some spelling that I fixed, that was your comment.

The Gate held the nats last year and other than some Jlap issues I think it came off well. So, lets recap....you say the last 3 have been at "ratty" tracks....last years was at the Gate...therefore you are calling the Gate ratty. That is fine....have your opinion, but don't claim you did not say it and understand that it is ironic since you practically begged us to open up the days before the champs.

Hector...our building may not be pretty and the area might not be perfect but we have a group of people that keep the facility going and provide a place to race week in and week out. Plenty of pit space...a DIY snack bar, well stocked parts wall and a good group of people. We also have had a number of decent size races without any issues. Our Jlap issues have never included missing laps...just a few sorting and setup issues. We are looking at other options but $600.00 is something that a few of us regulars will have to cough up so we will think long and hard before doing it. You may have not meant your comments but you said them...might want to check your facts before saying something next time.

I agree that there should be a new governing body for the racers, not against them. ROAR is going to crumble like the Berlin Wall....
