Crap. That sucks. Sorry to those who were kicked out. Bad move on George's part without letting ROAR know.

Unfortunately, George had to reduce his track to 100 x 38 for visibility issues, so my design was NOT able to be used.

My design was more technical, narrower and much different. I believe my layout would have been 3 seconds slower. There are places on this track that are 12 feet wide, much too wide and open for a nats layout. My design had a 9 foot straight and sweeper and an infield with 8 foot lanes.

I don't profess to be the ultimate track designer by any means (Terry Rott is the man!), but I did try to give George an idea of what the racers were going to expect to see at a ROAR National level.

Even though the layout is more wide open than I would like to see, it still keeps the drivers on there toes. If it was up to me, it would have been much tighter and more technical. I have seen worse, much worse.... just last month in fact at another large race.

I just wanted to jump in here and clarify that I had nothing to do with the final layout that was ultimately used for the Nats. I wish it was tighter and more technical.... but... a race track it is and the best drivers are still rising to the top.

Frank
Frank, Oh sorry, George said you designed it. I think the layout is tremendous. It does separate the power from the talent. Good job to who ever came up with it.

Chris;
Keep your head dude, just one more day, them we can hope this all will fade into an unpleasent memory. It would be helpful , if before the next big event, ROAR could better define its role in the running and scheduleing of the event. Either hands off or hands on is ok, as long as the racers and the track owner know whats up.

Has anyone made any sense out of the "Camera hours" posted for the Nationals at West Haven. I keep going there; but, never see anything.

Also looks like one camera for half the track has been down since yesterday.

I believe all sponsored guys are running the FK05. The only ones that couldn't get it were the privateers. But I may be wrong.

Looks like Corally and Xray are the cars to beat on the rug at this race. Belt drive looks to be the hot ticket in 2005....lol Guess I better sell my pro 4 then.....lol

Great job Toso! Got some KS guys pulling for you!

Every Xray car in the Stock A-main should be the T1 Factory Kit. The T1FK05 is not legal as it was not commercially available 14 days prior to the event. If they are running it in stock then that adds more problems to the event......

Jeff,

That is what I thought, but I wanted to make sure with everything that is going on up at the Nats you never can tell

well we are still waiting as there are a few protest going on. francis is trying to bump fernando out of the mod main. so we haven't even start yet. as for the layout yes I talked to frank and he said he had sent a layout for a 44 x 100 track and then for visiblility they cut it down to 38 x 100 so I don't know who came up with the layout.

The jugs of moonshine on the track are cool, there's nothing like a cool refreshing drink after marshalling.
