The layshaft itself has Been lowered ever so slightly I would say 0.5mm I did not measure exactly as I was half way though our national and time was of the essence for comparison.
The mounts have not been lowered so provisionally u can run all 4 screws for standard flex, I did however add 1mm washers under the top deck at the bulkheads to raise the deck of the mount so I get the even uninterrupted flex.

My opinion is unfortunately the track I tested it on was not a great track but I did find I had more rear traction. Further testing required as I run the brace across the steering posts so hopefully with the 4 screws removed and brace out I should have a even flex.
Belts on order
Layshaft mounts on backorder

We'll see how they feel when XRay misses the A-main again at their own track in a few weeks.

All joking aside, will XRay be the first company to release two versions of their sedan? One for asphalt and one for carpet? They did it with foam/rubber and it worked out. It's really starting to seem like each surface has its own special requirements.

Wouldn't have thought so.
There's a much bigger difference between the the requirements for foam and rubber, than between carpet and asphalt

Should think we'll just get tuning option parts.

P.S. this isn't helping my 'Post Count' look any better

Think about it.
Imagine Holding a screwdriver shaft vertically with two finger tips near the top vs near the bottom.
Which would be easier to move the screwdriver side to side by applying the force at the top?
It would be easiesr if you are holding below the center of mass.

Default F+R belt tightness!!

Hi,

I have always run my front and rear belt pretty loose to reduce as much friction as I could. I was wondering whether in stock racing it is better to run them tighter to get more drive off the corners?

I heard somewhere that this racer ran the rear belt loose and the front tight to get better forward traction off the corners?

Paul L just posted on this issue on his thread, he explains the whole belt tension thing in detail.
