the fast guys on race day are doing 14/14.2 average
It really depends on the track and your setup. There's plenty of times I've had a car that drove nice and put in perfectly good times on a dirty track. Then on race day, or just later in the day when the track had come in, the thing was flat out garbage.

Get something that allows you to print to PDF, then print the PDF. CutePDF works great on Windows. That'll reduce the size of the form to below the forum's restrictions. Another option is to post a link to a dropbox or box.com site...or similar.

I thought I saw this before in this thread or forum but searching I cannot find it. What is gained/lost when spacing the upper shock away from the tower and the lower from the arm?

Thanks
Dave

I also have one more question. What is the reasoning behind a softer spring being more helpful for carpet and a stiffer spring for asphalt? In my mind I think carpet provides higher traction and more roll just generates more traction. And a hard spring on asphalt wouldn't allow the weight transfer to the outside wheel to provide more traction. Clearly I'm wrong as RSD says the carpet springs are a lower rate than their asphalt.

Thanks
Dave

That's not far from mine at all.
Only difference is ride height (fr 5.2 r 5.5) and I have between 1 and 2mm shim inner rear bulks and the front links are in hole 2.
I really think it's the way I'm applying the sauce

ive put my front shocks to hole 2 now for tomorrows test, that should help with more steering on new tyres, plus im going back to 3.25 rear toe ,and ill cut the rear wing down a bit, there should be a few of us at the track tomorrow so the track should clean up a bit better,im hoping to get down to 14.4

The counter-intuitive spring rates has to do with the rate at which the tires are loaded. Stiffer springs load the tires quickly. The higher the traction the slower the tires must be loaded.....unless you like doing cartwheels off the track.

If the T4 weighs only 1300g race ready, I will need 150g of weight to meet VTA weight rule. I guess this car was not designed for VTA. Any VTA racers using T4?

I don't have a scale at home so I don't know what my car weighs.

My 17.5 sedan weights 1370 with 15grams added.

My mod sedan weights 1382 with 30g added.

Same battery, same speedo, same servo. My mod car has Paul's titanium screw kit which weights just over half the weight of the stock screws, which I will also be adding to my stock car. Both cars should drop weight with the orca packs and my mod car will drop a lot of weight with an orca mod motor.

Why do you think the car will drop weight with ORCA packs$ are they lighter?
I use 6000 and 7000 both ORCA and with no weight added to the car I can get it balanced perfect left and right. Obviously a little difference with the 6000 in the car but not enough to add weight since its perfect with the 7000

Also looks like I have the exact setup with the ORCA speedo and killshot motor with a savox 1251, but can't tell what servo you have

Thanks that makes sense. So rule of thumb you want to start w/ a lighter spring in high traction? Do you generally want to work your way stiffer until right before you'd traction roll? Do you couple the softer springs w/ thicker oil?
