On the 2nd battery the T4 was already running the same lap times as my T3'12 that I have been running there the past 4 weeks. Everyone always says that a new car is faster. Well before the big race last weekend I replaced all plastic on my old car, bearings, axles, ecs, etc. So it was as new as could be and shimmed to get any slop out. New car was easier to drive also and made tons of traction all around.

All in all I think almost everyone will like the new car. We shall see how it fairs next week with 4 of them running at IIC!

Good to hear.

Please keep us posted on testing and any difference you have to make between the setups you've used on the T3'12 and the new car.
I know when we all changed from the T2'009 to the T3 most people put the same setup on but it didn't work as well.
Would be good to hear of the differences with the T4.

Thanks

Don't worry. Xray is most likely going to release a T4R which will probably cost under $300.00. It won't have as many orange anodized parts and it won't have the woven carbon fiber chassis, upper deck and shock towers, but it will be the club-level car.
Ok, but how long do we have to wait before there is a T4R available to buy?

Im gonna go out on a limb and say they just put that price up there because RCAmerica doesnt know what the kits will cost yet. They didnt even have the part number a few days ago but have since gotten it.

And besides that 600 doesnt stock Tamiya and Yokomo for selling kits as fast as they can make them!

I just had to guess at the setup. I didnt get any instructions or anything so there was no kit setup provided. But for a guess it was pretty good but I know it can get better! To me if had to much rear traction which is unusual for rubber tires! We should learn a lot next weekend with 4 of them running. This will be the first IIC where there are more than one preproduction kit running so it should really benefit everyone working together on it.

BTW: why does everyone keep complaining about Xray kits being so expensive?
Here in Germany Xray is cheaper than Yokomo or Tamiya

The car is cheaper then Bd7 and TRF417x but the spare parts and options are the expensive part of Xray ... if you don't break much then it's not such a problem

Good point.
But I never broke Xray Parts (really mad at myself for having bought spares).

I owned a TRF 417 before on which i broke and bent quite an amount of parts.

So I think Xray parts are well worth their money.

I ran two Xray's for an asphalt season. One also endured a day testing carpet with a bad setup. Nothing bent. Nothing broken. The only things I ever replaced springs for setup, Chassis for setup reasons, top plate for setup reasons. Ummmm yeah oh wait I broke one part through out. It was a wicked hit and it cracked my front outdrive.

So go pay 600 for the kit. or 350 for the R version. Then you really don't need anything else to replace.
Durability, Instructions, and Build quality there is none better.

Just a fast check, it looks like only the front and rear arms, diffs and spur gear can be saved from old tcs.

And they only used the word "optimized" once! (in the feature list, I didn't read the top paragraph)

I have to say the hype sounds good and the upgrade list does sound worthy of the T4 Title.
buying all new springs and other parts (diffs, Spool?) is the price you pay for a new innovative design
Come on Exotek hit me with the xr4' 13 chassis and traditional hinge block suspension mount setup like for the xr3' 12
