The car is slated to ship to dealers on October 1st from their Hong Kong Office.

We already have a pre-order up for them. From what I have been told the first batch is not very large, so it is best to reserve them at your favorite retailer ASAP.

There is no release of the manual yet, but as soon as they have it, I will try to get it uploaded.

Are you going to carry a full line of parts as well?

That is the plan right now.

By the end of the month/ early October we should be a full line shop for TC6/TCXX/Spec-R R1 and some 417.

We are also bringing on bodies, speedos, batteries and motors and other miscellaneous TC-related items. Our focus is going to be Touring cars exclusively for now.

The manual is now online : http://www.spec-r.com/default/pdf/R1...tionManual.pdf

One really cool thing is the suspension mounts. Pivot ball and inserts. Way cool.

Well I found the first part to fix I hate the photon style spur gear holder, but even worse if the layshaft setup, how do they expect you to get those 2 shims on the inside of the bulkhead, and why should you even need them? maybe reverse that sleeve and put the lip on the inside to replace the shims..

I have to say that little tie rod tool makes way too much sense! I want one.

It does look pretty badass. The spur gear situation doesn't look too bad. The TC6.1 had shims on the inside if I remember correctly. I'm guessing it probably doesn't matter whether you put the layshaft in from the left or the right. You could always remove the right-side layshaft bulkhead, it's only 2 screws. Then you could put the layshaft in from the motor mount end, and it'd be easier to slip the spacers on.

The shock rebound tool is pretty sweet. I wonder if that is plastic or aluminum.
The gear diff outdrives are ball-bearing supported, which is kinda cool if they don't fill up with leaked silicone oil. It's interesting that it uses both the paper seal and an o-ring as well.
The gear chart goes nowhere near blinky stock ratios... Hopefully there's enough range in the motor to make something work.
I like the xray-style shock mounting.
Set screws on the outer hinge pins will hopefully keep slop at bay.
I wonder what size the holes are in the pistons.
I wonder why it doesn't use the normal C-Rated Spec-R springs?
No floppy body mount things in the front. :/

Hey, for 290.00 USD, it literally has unbeatable value. I am hesitant to speak for durability, as it is untested, but it should make for a great asphalt car where barriers are not as tough. This car should get a lot of fresh blood into on-road.

Would be good to see optional parts like alloy center pulleys, alloy servo mount, DCJ shafts, steel spool drive cups, and one peice main pulley (no gluing)... imo

Love the Kit Tool, Fan mount, Steering brace, and Sway Bar mount.

I bet all those will be aftermarket options from Spec-R, it's just that at the price point, it is tough to include them.

This gear diff is looking better then anything else I have seen so far...it has bearings for the out drives and o-ring + gasket it should not leak. Just looking over the manual it looks like its very well thought out as far as a manual goes. Very interesting.....
