Yes, I'm running Everything x-ray up front. The front spool cups, DCJ's, etc. All of it's a direct drop in and of course the xray stuff is slightly better quality. The Spec-R DCJ's are a great improvement over the stock CVD's for sure! I only run 17.5 blinky so the springsteel spool cups are really not needed, but they are pretty :-)
Mostly I'm just trying everything I can get my hands on to test them out and see what fits. I'm going to try some Aluminum hubs/knuckles tonight, the local guys have several different cars so I get a bit of variety in parts..when they actually have spares that is.
Like Jeff said, the x-ray spool is better quality as far as the fit and finish but the one I have seems a bit heavier..not that it's enough to ever be noticed.

I used a cheap small paint brush to dip into the paint and then flicked it onto the shell. I used about 12 different colours and let them dry overnight before backing with white. I don't have the decal sheet and I'll have to hand paint the grill and headlights after it's trimmed and mounted. The good thing is nobody else at the track will have anything like this.

Hear and read a lot all over the place about the built and performance of the R1.
Could someone please provide me with a resume as to the issues I have to look after when building this car, problems, alterations, other hick ups and so on?
Preferably with solutions (partnumbers if and when parts are needed)
Many thanks.
I am on a very tight budget. So I can't afford it to buy me the car not knowing what is gonna hit me and come to the conclusion that I can't finish it because of my lack of expertise and/or lack of cashflow as to buying additional stuff to make it work.
Again thanks for the effort.

It covers pretty much everything you asked for. It's the S1 review but it's the same for the R1 for the most part.
Only must have's IMO is:
Protek R/C Ceramic 5x8x2.5mm Metal Shielded Flanged "Speed" Ball Bearings (2)[PTK-MF85ZZC] These can be found at amainhobbies.com
.2, and .3mm Shims. these need to be 3x5x.2 shims to fit M3 size screws. No real part numbers I know of. I use these:

Other than that there are no "Must have" items. The bearings I listed fix the lay shaft issues with the kit's included shims. The .2MM shims will fix the slop in the steering rack and chubs if you are really worried about it. You may want to find some .1MM shims in the same size just in case your kit is tighter than mine.
