Cool Kevin, no one at my local track drives a spec r car other then my spec r s1 that will be hitting the track soon, great to see spec r's perform so well against all the competition out there, keep up the good work !

Can someone with experience please tell me how much of a difference there is in using hard vs soft lower arms on asphalt ? From researching it seems hard lower arms give better traction on asphalt, is it a noticable difference though in a 17.5 non boost class running on medium grip asphalt ? Is it worth using ARC or tcx hard lower arms vs spec R (non specified) lower arms ?

If you swap the lower arms for another brand you are going to have to change at least the outer hinge pin as well and maybe then the upright to match the hingepin and then the sway bar mounts may be on a different place on the arm and change the setup more.
My pro-spec, stock, is crazy good on medium grip asphalt so personally I would not change anything

Yea Ive been told to use everything up to the inner pins which would be spec r parts from there, oh well, tqrc is out of stock on the hard lower arms at the monent anyway. Thanks

Anyone heard where those S2's are? The boat must be late.
TQ says "late April" but we're running out of April...

I finally decided to install my modified 1223 Xray bumper and figured that I should take a photo of how I modified it to fit the spec r. The xray bumper is 18mm thick iirc, and the spec r bumper is 15mm. I milled a 1.5mm pocket on the top and bottom of the bumper to make it fit.

What am I missing here? Why are we removing material instead of just using longer screws?

Ummm... don't know what that had to do with anything...?
The Xray bumper, while harder, is also thicker. However the all important holes line up I assume? But, if you just slide it on and attempt to slide the mounting plate down, the existing screws aren't long enough to reach the threads on the bottom.
Thus, why I assume DBM removed material from the top and bottom. My question, why not just get longer screws?

Arrrgh!
What you mean "shim"? Shim implies adding spacers like washers to add thickness. I thought the Xray bumper was already too thick?
How does one shim something to make it thinner/smaller?
I'm not understanding...
