A friend of mine has a Nosram GP3300 with 462 secs and 1.19x and they perform very well too (especially compared to the Nosram Vtec 3700 495, 1.21)

You can't compare batteries by their numbers. There are many parameters that a matcher can change and give you different numbers. The only think you can do is have a standard system to measure them and then compare those numbers.

As far as matchers now, when Orion gives you a stage 3 battery then it is for sure a good battery and can be compared to any battery of same level with any macther (SMC, ProMatch, Fukuyama etc)

My thoughts....

It's possible that those Nosram cells are cycled with a 20A discharge. That would make the run tine more accurate to the numbers shown.
You can compair battery companys specs... IF.... they all have the same peak charge, cut-off, discharge and run-out time..
On the matcher, that's cosidered the industry standard, you can't manipulate the numbers....

nop they are discharged on 30Amp

I was also amazed when I saw the numbers. They are the latest batch of 3300 it;s the same like Orion Sp2

Here is one from their site
http://www.nosram.com/images/99521-99523_VTEC3700.jpg

Unfortunatelly is for the Vtec's since the 3300 are no longer available.

I'll ask him to take a picture from his batteries

The thing is .... most of the trusted battery matchers (Pro-match, Fusion and Fukuyaya) do use standardised matching parameters. You can compair those matchers to each other.

I have a feeling the matchers that are using non-standard methods are doing it for their benefit (IE they sell more substandard cells) than for the racers benefit.

Nostram looks like they use orion's variable discharge method ...

A lot of matchers use similar equipment (CEI stuff). But, that still may not mean that you can compare numbers. For example, how long of a delay does the cell have between charging and discharging? Is the room temperature held constant? I would surmise that such factors play a significant role/
