Does it handle just as well with the wide conversion fitted so the lipo can lay across the car?

Our track has decided to run 1/12 for the upcoming season. It will be my first experience with 1/12 and I've narrowed my car choice down to the new CRC. How tough is the CRC front end? We are going to be running 13.5 blinky and I'm sure I'm going to be hitting some things initially. What would be some common spares that I will need? Any other advice you feel like giving a 1/12 noob would be appreciated.

The front-end is tough. You'll wanna keep some spare kingpins, and an extra set of steering blocks (in case of catastrophic collision). Front springs are always good to keep on hand. An assortment of tweak springs and shock springs for tuning, and 10k, 20k, 30k lubes for the tubes and kingpins will make dialing-in easier as well.

As for the rear of the car, I like to keep a spare center pivot built up, along with a spare set of links and their corresponding pivot balls. Other than that there's nothing else you'll really need spares wise.

I thought about geting a 12r5.2 but this car might have changed my mind. I think it was the rear ride height adjustment that got me

Put a foam front bumper on it. Most people run the #3259 narrow bumper, but if you are worried about hitting stuff, you can get the #3260 wide bumper. Not only does the bumper help protect the front end, it supports the body.

Yes it does. Turning the battery transverse generates more mechanical grip. That is how we ended up running it at the world's.

In what scenarios would the traverse battery be better?
