I've tried quite a few and had most luck with the trinity d3. Stays nice and cool as long as gearing is right.

They are all quick though if you get them setup right, I just find the d3 can take more abuse and doesn't go soft 4 minutes in.

Revtech and other Duo based motors inhale boost without complaint while LRP, Orion, and Reedy always made me nervous over how hot they get under boost. I would use the Revtech or a Trinity make.

My reedy works great in wgt. Changed to 12.3x24.5 rotor, 20 endbell timing and 45+15 rs timing. It comes off lukewarm and its a rocket.
Didnt have luck with the stock rotor though.

The Reedy was faster than my D3. It needs work though to wake it up ie. Gearing and timing profiles.

Be careful with the boost on the Revtech. Mine was very fast and very smooth right up until it melted down at about 160 F just 3 laps into warm up for the main. Don't go all out and protect the gearing until you find what works.

melted at 160? thats GARBAGE. there are SHITTON of trinity's at my track but i still run lrp/reedy now. aweful lot of horror stories for trinity motors dispite their popularity. dont hear of too many lrp motors dieing horribly.
hell, i didn't even bat an eye at my x12 coming off at 200 lol. little hot, but i know it probably wont hurt it.

cant get my reedy hot. just wont go. i threw liek 75degrees of timing at it and geared at the upper end of wgt rollouts and it comes off warm.. ill probably get another one for my 12th scale, but not sure which rotor to get. i kind of wish reedy would sell them prebuilt with whatever rotor you wanted, instead of having to buy them in addition. $125 with a motor and rotor kinda sucks to experiment.

12.3x24.5 seems to be working well for wgt. maybe 12.25 for the 12th?

Hobbywing v3 don't even contemplate anything else for the money.

The v2.1 are still very good as is th xtreme stock. If you can get hold of either you may get a bargain.

Revtech motors are designed for blinky as they have a shed load of internal timing...........be careful!
