Something that IS something to try for carpet racing is using the older suspension blocks for the FF block. They mount in the outer holes of the chassis for suspension mounts. Using the newer solid version of the RF suspension mount is also a good combo with the older front block. It basically increases chassis stiffness overall.
If you have any other questions about carpet setups, feel free to ask. I have been working on mine for a little while and its working pretty well now.

I upgraded my Worlds Cyclone to the HBX chassis and it was an awesome car. All parts from the Cyclone, Cyclone WCE and TC are compatible but as far as drive shafts, spools and diffs from the TCX and TCXX, all are different and not compatible due to the narrower bulk heads from the TCX onwards. Stick to parts from the older, wider TC.

Thank you very much! I have always liked the Cyclone line of cars and this HBX chassis is very nice. I am still trying to get all of the parts in order, right now I have the Bulkheads and shock towers on the way. Once those have been installed all that is left are the drive train components.

When I switched to 'shorty' lipos I moved the ESC to the front right of the chassis and had the lipo behind this. It was then better to have the long belt back on the left, in it's original position. I found the car had tons of understeer when using 'shorty' lipos so added a lot of weight up front, added some antisquat and softened the springs all round. It was great in this configuration as I could get the weight right down to 1355g and was perfectly balanced.
