Not all tapes are created equal unfortunately. I prefer Hudy Battery Strapping tape. It's spendy, but the adhesive allows the tape to be reused through the race day, and it is very strong.
Another tip is to chamfer/round the edges of the battery tape slots to the carbon doesn't cut through the tape (worst case scenario).
Rest assured, tape has been the standard in attaching batteries for touring cars for MANY years. It's weight penalty is next to nothing, and it also allows the chassis to flex more naturally.

I hear ya. I was into onroad about 15 years ago and I used tape. Been driving off road lately and just getting back to onroad. What is the news on parts becomming more available? My car should be here in the next couple of days and I would like some spares. Can anyone reccomend a good carpet setup? We have a new local track that is just opening in the next week or so.

once I got it on the track I made a few minor changes to the bumpsteer, outer pivot ball and shock position (upper).
you don't need much for the car at all.
the first only must get is steel bones (only replace the bones) for the front. relatively cheap and will last for a long while.

Thanks, Do you run rubber or foam tires on carpet? I have some sorex 36R tires.
go with the kit setup and perhaps 2000 in the gear diff.

Hi All,
I have been seen same HB on our track and they go really good but the problem is there are no spare parts to purchase were can we get them?
Have anyone compared a HB TCXX with a BD7 which one to go.
What does the 6 holes shock Piston does better then the 3holes one, can it be used on the BD7 shocks?
Thanks.
