Pro4 and ProD were shaft. I would assume the Pro 5 would be shaft

Makes you wonder why they waited so long to update the TCXX with an over priced upgrade instead of just realeasing the pro5

most likely because they can't decide which arm is going to be the racing chassis side

Well right now it seems HPI side you can get parts, but its still hit or miss on the HB side.

Also did anyone ever confirm if newer TCXX kits were being produced with the update?

I have a feeling XX will be discontinued not after the pro5 comes out. But I have a question, what is the length of the shock need to be set at with the upgrade packs low towers and short shocks.

I built mine by cutting 2mm off the shock ends and threading on till they stop.

I tried building without cutting and could not use my yokomo springs. They were too long. Had to lower the spring perch

Do you have an exact total shock length. With the 2mm cut ball ends. Also do you have to cut all 4 shocks? The front seem to be the one with ride height problems

I didn't measure. Total length didn't change by cutting. It only allowed the spring perch to lower to allow the longer springs to fit better.

Just thread the shock end on until it bottoms out.

Default first race of the year

I had my TCXX out this last weekend for our first race of the winter season. I had recently installed a smokem 2.25 chassis and floating servo mount. From my last post I had started with the recommended pink/blue yokomo springs and only changed front inner ball stud height to get the car in the ballpark. Thanks to everyone on this thread for helping me get my car sorted and competitive.

I tried to video it but can't really see the action.
I only did the Right side so far.

Interesting, so what is the idea behind doing this? More toe only when you need it so there is better straight line speed, rear steer, or what?

I'm still using the fixed servo mount on my TCXX but would like to try the floating servo mount. Any recommendation on which to get (need part number too) Thanks in advance.

More of a rear steer action, lessens toe of the outer wheel thru the corner.

The best floating servo mount would be the new HB version. Part #111196

Otherwise there's one on eBay that works well. I used it. I actually have one of those I could sell cheap.

i have the ebay one that Chris mentioned and it works pretty well. haven't seen the HB one anyplace, so can't comment on that

arrowmax has one, but you need to use their chassis

Chris - where can you actually get one of the HB servo mounts?

Apex RC I think has a couple of 2014 upgrade kits. That's where I got 2 of my kits.
