I would be interested to see what Kevin H ran at the snowbirds. With the new F1 coming out, I would highly anticipate something new for the 12th as well.

Open question: What have been your favorite mods with the 12r5.2 chassis?

I would say that depends on the surface you run on and/or which carpet

Top Racing Centre shock.
Moving the shock forward.

Xenon Front end- tried the dampner and std front end, with a preference to the dampner version.
Works quite well on asphalt.

I've been running VTA and USGT for several years now. Finally bought a 1/12th scale. What a blast! I didn't think I had the hand/eye coordination for it. I'm not ever going to be in first place, but it is a hoot!

I'm new to 1/12th scale. I'm used to figuring FDR. This 12R5.2 came with a 76 spur and 53 pinion. Stock spur, per the manual, should be a 96T? Suggestions? Motor is a Thunder Power 17.5. ESC is a Mamba Max Pro.

Default Spur

17.5 we run a (70) tooth spur.

13.5 we run a (80) tooth spur.

96 would be a mod spur we never run.

Thanks Haywood!

The manual doesn't address it. I'm sure they assume it's not someone's first 1/12th scale. But it is mine.

Also get rid of the thick wire that is tweaking your pod. If you are going to run 17.5, put TQ 16g on it and the pod will move a lot more free. Also make sure it is TQ wire and not something off the shelf.

He does not necessarily need to use TQ wire, he could very well use Deans 16 gauge Wet-noodle.
