Changing radio antenna
 

I am using a Airtronics MX3-S, upgraded from my Airtronics Blazer Sport. The Blazer was a 27 AM radio, and my MX3-S is a 75 FM synstehsized radio. I am noticing that my MX3-S is glitching. When I hold the antenna slightly the glitching stops. It is screwed in all the way.

My MX3-S has a black antenna and my Blazer has a silver one. Can I just switch the antenna with the Blazer one to see if that helps? Will this cause a problem?

no its not going to cause any problem, but i really doubt its going to help much, if they can fit on opposite controller then why not give it a test if it improves.

I have one of these remotes too, and am experiencing some glitching issues. I am currently installing the Yokomo Noise Killer Kit to see if it help. But I was told Airtronics had some issues with the 75 band radios, which I am looking into right now.

Keep me informed as to what you find out regarding Aitronics and the 75mhz band.

I will. I sent Airtronics an email, and I guess there Q&A guy is out until the 13th. It sucked, my ccar glitched at the Tamiya track, and I hit the wall a couple of times. Thank god I didn't break anything, it was just aggrevating.

i have the MX3-S 27Mhz transmitter, i experienced glitching when i had the reciever in my pro4, its much better when i put it into my SD, but still had slight problems with range. where do you put the noise killers?

The kit comes with two types of metallic shielding tape. One that is mesh, and one that is foil. You cover the receiver with the mesh first, and then the foil. This is ment to deflect incoming RF interference. Next in the kit is a ferrite magnet that plugs in line with the receiver, and the ESC. This ensures that electronic signals go only one way. I don't like the design of the Ferrite magnet, so I am going to Radio Shack tonight to buy a retangular one, vs the round one that is wrapped in the kit. It will make a cleaner setup if it works.
