Default Tekin Redline GEN2

What's the scoop ?

"With the Gen2 advancement comes the Redline Gen2 RPM series motors. The RPM motors have been tweaked to provide that extra edge needed in stock racing competition. Not only do the RPM versions offer a higher overall RPM output, they are also lighter than their Gen2 counterparts. Specifically designed for 1/12, 1S LiPo and stock racing, the Gen2 RPM motors give you the edge over the competition."

Hopefully they are good. I raced with my old Tekin Redline 17.5 in blinky class last weekend and it simply does not compare to the newer generation of motors. New motors these days have more acceleration and top end now.

Default Gen 2

I had one in my hand last week and it looked good. I do not like the exposed bearing on the end bell like the old Duo 1 motors for dirt to pack into if you run in the dirt!

I dont see how you could totally seal the bearing off. The way it is you can brush any debris off. Cover it as much as possible and it just give somewhere for dirt to be trapped where its hard to clean imo.

I have been testing a 5.5 that I received last week.

It has a super smooth power band, great top end an runs pretty cool. It made my car easier to drive.

While I am not gonna claim it's faster than anything else out there, I can say it is as fast as my other motors. A little tweaking with software and it might even be better.

Had one in my hands from a Tekin driver, took it apart to check out the internals. Looks stout, haven't had a chance to see one run as of yet.

Default gen 2

seems they have changed timing, marks going from 0-40, as opposed to the 0-24, similary to Novak, which include the 'build in' timing.

Love the new look

Ran the gen 2 rpm in our local 12th scale racing night. 17.5 open esc on a 70/36 technical carpet track.

Motor runs pretty cool and very smooth compared to the d3 i was running before. Left my trinity boost timing in and fiddled with rollout and bell timing. Ended up with 0-10 bell timing as i couldnt get the end to register zero in the car.

Rollout 79. Ar had plenty of riP on the straight but was much smoother than my d3. Thought it was slower cause it didnt have that surge when the turbo came on.
Qualifiers were meh. Qualified second on b main. But did two mOre laps than qualifier. Was on pace to do nine seconds faster than tq until i met some back markers.

Amain i had some bumps and grinds. But for a blind night with the motor. Quite happy with it.
