You have to buy the programming box separate. To do software update periodically you need the professional LCD box. They are great esc's. I personally used one in mod TC with a 3.5 on many occasions and never had an issue.

Thanks. I have been running the LRP with a 4.5t but I couldn't keep up with a few of the guys on on the long 200'+ straight. I think those guys were running 3.5t's now and I may have to give the 3.5 a try.

Really. I was going to start my 3.5t at close to 9.0 fdr. The 4.5t needed to be around 7.5 to keep up but the LRP didn't like that too much.

Depends a lot on timing too. Run a lot of timing with less gear or low timing with more gear.

Get an ESC with a fan, a 4.5 or hotter motor will generate plenty of heat. I have to vouch for Novak for running Mod TC if chassis space isn't an issue, they seem to have the best brakes, but brakes generate lots of heat as well (the energy has to go somewhere, your ESC and motor have to take it). I run two fans on the motor and one on the ESC, both come off cold after a full pack.
